Ramona, Ca – On the weekend of July 10-11 the Dan Myers Racing team will take their 1957 Chevy pick-up truck to Woodburn, Oregon to run with the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association on the third stop of the association’s 2010 schedule.

Coming off a win at the last WCOPMA event in Sacramento a couple weeks back, Dan Myers and his team are hoping to bring some of that momentum and luck from Sacramento to Woodburn with them.

Dan is not afraid to admit that luck was on his side in Sacramento. After all, he won the event without making a full pass down the ¼-mile as every run was cut short for some reason or another. But Dan states “you cannot win a race without having at least one lucky round, thankfully for me I had three in a row.”

When Dan got home upon the completion of the Sacramento event, he was taking the car apart to get ready for the Woodburn race and found that the 4-link brackets on his truck were all cracked and almost falling off. He stated that was also a lucky break as they didn’t completely break off during a pass as that would be, obviously, a very bad deal.

After finding that problem he went over everything on the truck from front-to-back and top-to-bottom to make sure nothing else was broken, breaking or cracked. He had the 4-link bracket issue fixed and is ready to run in Woodburn, Oregon.

Going into Woodburn, Myers main goal is to create some kind of consistency and get down the track on each pass.
“From the early numbers in Sacramento it looks like this pick-up truck will be in the mid-to-low 6.20 range on a consistent and safe tune up and hopefully dip into the ‘teens by the end of the weekend,” says Myers.

Right now Dan Myers is sitting in the number two spot in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association points standings after two events. With his victory at the last event he moved up three places and is hoping to retain the number two position or even bump into the top spot after the Woodburn event is finished.
