THAMESVILLE, ON – Dan Cryderman said he will be ready for the opening round in the new Pro Bike and Sled Series (PBSS) for the inaugural season in motorcycle and snowmobile drag racing action.

“I’m looking forward to this new series,” said the Pro Bike rider who will campaign his 2004 Suzuki. “It should be an interesting year.”

The PBSS will be comprised of bikes and sleds, which will feature a Quick 16-machine qualified field of eight bikes and eight snowmobiles.

Presented by Wiseco Performance Products, competitors will run on a Sportsman ladder in dial-in racing.

Cryderman’s bike was built by Raceworks Canada, and the engine is a Suzuki-based GS version with a displacement of 1640 cc. The engine is equipped with a Vortex2 cylinder head from Ward Performance.  Cryderman estimates the engine has close to 300 horsepower, “and works pretty well.”

Fast by Gast from Grand Island, New York supplies the 48mm Lectron carburetors, along with the five-speed billet transmission, which allows the rider to shift gears under full engine power.

Cryderman added the bike was built to run in Top Gas, an 8.20 index class that used to be contested in AMA (American Motorcycle Association) drag racing.  That series has now folded, and he said the new PBSS came along at the right time for him.

He started racing the Suzuki in 2005, and his best speed down the quarter mile to date has been 169- mph. Crew chief for the team is Jeremey Van Bastelaar, who helps Cryderman service the bike between rounds.

The first event for the Pro Bike and Sled Series will take place May 20-22 for the Victoria Day Weekend Challenge at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.
