Titan Motorsports Team Reports

The USA Titan Invasion featured two incredible race cars from the Titan stable who made the journey to race, including the iconic Copper Supra, which changed the game in the early days of NHRA Sport Compact, TX2K and the NOPI drag racing series. Along with Garbriel Ruiz’s La Criatura Racing Toyota Camry Pro Chassis car. In its inaugural debut with the X275 combination which includes upgrades consisting of 98mm Precision Turbo, FuelTech ECU, EZ Motorsports Clutch, and full valvetrain including Ti valves from Ferrea. The Copper Supra was able to run a personal best of 7.23 @ 204MPH with Gary White behind the wheel; before the event rained out.

La Criatura’s Gabriel Ruiz was able to put down a #1 qualifying run of 6.04 @ 238 before the event was called.

Team Titan would also like to congratulate Oceania College Supra for setting their personal best of 6.99. When the Oceania team needed parts for their last minute thrash to get the car together for 2017 Jamboree they called upon Titan; and were able to secure some goodies off the famed Copper Supra. Its great to see customers setting records.
See you at the races!!

Adel, GA – With the summer heat in Florida drawing to a close and fall in the air, race season is beginning to get into gear and it was time to dust off our race cars and hit the pavement running.  We loaded up the rig and headed to Georgia a day early to get some testing completed in our newly configured IRS Supra and the 10.5 Outlaw Scion TC.

This spring we completely revamped our world famous Supra using a configuration more similar to our Outlaw cars, but still maintaing the gasoline fuel system and factory Toyota independent rear suspension.  A newly prototyped part failed on our 3rd attempt resulting in our test being cut short.  With the Supra out of commission we began testing the Scion, resulting in a 4.25 pass at a weight much heavier than we typically run in compliance with this particular races guidelines.

Copper Supra To Be Rebuilt — Better Than Ever!

Courtesy of Titan Motorsports

Orlando, FL – The Titan Motorsports Copper Supra wasn’t in Japan, but it is from Japan, and it too was involved in an unavoidable disaster back in March. Now, it too has begun the rebuilding process.

As with many things that break, we have now been presented with the perfect opportunity to update and upgrade. The Copper Supra (not always copper) has been racing hard since the early 2000’s and has gone under the knife many times. Each time it has come back stronger and faster than before. This time will be no different.

With updates and revisions including larger turbo and manifold, new roll cage, as well as upgraded suspension components, the once record-holder is eager to get back on the track and once again strut its stuff. Be on the lookout for more news and updates on the Copper Supra as it prepares for NSCRA in December.

Team Titan’s Battle for the Belt

Courtesy of Tean Titan

Ennis TX – This past weekend Titan Motorsports participated in the ADRL LenMar World Finals as well as the 2010 Battle for the Belts in Dallas Texas. We pick up the action with the Battle for the Belts’ first round of action. In the first round, Gary White and the Titan Motorsports Scion had a bye run, since the Team finished first in points for the year. Although Gary didn’t race an opponent, he was still racing this round to qualify for the LenMar World Finals. In round 1 he ran a 3.954 at 187.76mph.

This run just barely beat out Todd Moyer’s first run winning time of 3.955, giving White the lane choice against him in round 2. In round 2 Gary cut a great reaction time and was able to just squeeze out Moyer with a 3.957 against Todd’s 3.990. In the third and final round it was Gary White vs. Dan Millen. Gary got a good jump, but Dan had the lead by halftrack, and took the win. Congratulations to Dan Millen and his team on the win!

Epic Battle for the Belts!

Courtesy of Titan Motorsports

Orlando, FL – The 2010 ADRL Battle for the Belts is almost upon us. It’s been a great year for racing ADRL XTF. All the cars have been very competitive throughout the season, and are getting quicker with every race. Team Titan has made some good progress this year too. The Scion became the first import to hit the 3 second mark (4th into Mickey Thompson 3 Second Club), and has been a consistent force at every race. So consistent in fact, that Team Titan is the season’s points leader going into the ADRL Battle for the Belts championship on October 22-23rd in Ennis Texas. With the points lead, Gary White and the Scion will have a bye run in the first round. Here is how the standings will begin:

The Battle for the Belts is an elimination ladder based on points accumulated during the season. The last car standing takes the championship. This means it is anyone’s race. Last year it was the #8 seed that won. In 2008, it was the #1 seed. This is definitely going to make things interesting in Texas.

Join Team Titan in Texas for what is sure to be an epic battle in XTF.

Team Titan Challeges In Ohio

Courtesy of ADRL

Norwalk, OH – This past weekend was the 4th annual ADRL Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags, which also held host to the canceled ADRL Simpson Dragstock VII, in Norwalk Ohio. After rain had delayed the Simpson Dragstock, the race was continued in Ohio. We pick up the action in Ohio.

Coming off of a #3 qualifier (3.92 @ 185.69mph) at the Dragstock VII, The Titan Scion was finally ready for Friday’s elimination runs. The first round drew L.J. Wood Jr. Wood had a great light and led until about the 330 foot mark, where Gary proceeded to run him down to win by over a car length. In the second round Team Titan was set to run against long time rival Billy Glidden. Gary and Billy have been battling back and forth for the better part of 2 years now and it is always “anyone’s race” when these two line up. White had a great light, but Glidden was on a role, and posted his second 3 second pass in a row to take the win against Gary’s 4.098.

Double Duty for Team Titan In St. Louis

Courtesy of Team Titan

Orlando, Fl – With the past few ADRL events being double-headers, it is hard to believe that all this action is being packed into one weekend… again.  It’s almost getting difficult to keep up with what races are what, who has qualified, and which races are raced which days. So, here is the rundown for Titan’s August 6-7th ADRL weekend.

Friday was the make-up day for the Independence Drags held in Topeka last month. The Scion qualified #1 for this race, with a 3.986 at 185.61mph, so the crew was eager to finish it off strong. Round one of eliminations was a bye run so we’ll pick things up in the second. In round two, Gary lines up with Judd Coffman. Coffman ended up rolling the beam, Gary ended up super loose, but at the end, it was the Scion that moved on.

In round 3 it was Dustin Miller’s turn to dance, but it was Gary White and the Titan Scion that was to set the tune. Miller got a big starting line advantage, but ran into problems down the track. The Scion blasted down the track with a 4.047 at 184.02, posting the fastest time of the day. In the finals, Titan was set to face-off with Jeff Naiser. Gary blasted out of the gate first and never looked back. Naiser ran into some trouble half way down the track and had to shut it off. The Scion posted another fast time of the day with a 4.003 at 185.79.

Titan Motorsports Does the Texas Two Step

Coutesy of Titan Motorsports

Baytown, TX – As if running a double header weekend wasn’t going to heat things up as it is, the weather in Texas decided to contribute in this department as well, bringing track temps as high as 150*F! The weekend’s festivities began with the completion of the canceled ADRL Dragpalooza VI from back in March. As things stood, we were to resume our #3 qualifying position ran in March, with all elimination races to count toward qualifying for the Texas Drags, to be held the very next day.

The first elimination round for Dragpalooza had Gary White lined up against Patrick Collins. The Scion spun off the line, and Collins shook. Gary tried to reel him in but left a rod on the track in the process, ending in a first round elimination right off the bat. Not exactly the result Team Titan imagined going into the weekend. But that’s racing.
