The World’s Fastest Fords Take Over Maple Grove Raceway!

18th Annual CJ Pony Parts NMRA Ford Nationals Presented by Vortech Superchargers

The Keystone Automotive NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals returns to Maple Grove Raceway for an action-packed weekend of racing May 4-6 as drivers of the world’s fastest Fords return to Eastern Pennsylvania for their only stop of the year in the Northeast.

Already the 2018 season has produced numerous record runs, and with good air usually around the first weekend of May in Pennsylvania, more of those records could be broken. Could we see the first-ever nine-second run in G-Force Racing Transmissions Coyote Stock? It could happen as drivers in this highly competitive sealed engine class have been running in the low-10’s already this year. Another class to keep an eye on is the new Steeda Limited Street class, an entry-level, single power adder class, which debuted at Bradenton back in March.

Racing however isn’t the only thing happening at Maple Grove Raceway the first weekend of May. Along with the great on-track action, there is also plenty going on off the track. Take some time to check out the Manufacturers Midway, where you can talk one-on-one with several performance parts manufacturers about their products for your ride. You can also stroll around the UPR Products All-Ford Car Show, as some of the nicest rides around will be on display both Saturday and Sunday, if you’re looking for some used parts, the Swap Meet may have exactly what you’re looking for.

Whether you’re into classic Ford or Modern Fords, show cars or 200 MPH Street Outlaws, the 18th Annual CJ Pony Parts NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals Presented by Vortech Superchargers will be able to quench your thirst for all things Ford!

Santa Ana CA – The NMRA/NMCA All-Star Nationals presented by MAHLE Motorsport celebrated its 10th year at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia, April 5-8, 2018, and while the cool, wet weather provided some challenges, the NMRA/NMCA/Atlanta Dragway staff and the racers worked hard to give spectators a great show and complete the event. A combined event showcasing both the NMRA and NMCA series, the All-Star Nationals delivered exciting, side-by-side racing for fans of all brands.

Boasting the world’s fastest street cars, the VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod class saw 22 cars try to qualify for the 16 available spots, and Jason Hamstra set the pace and the unofficial class record in qualifying with a 3.67 performance. Hamstra would go out in the semifinals to Eric Gustafson, who went on to meet Craig Sullivan in the final round. This was the first time both drivers had been to an NMCA Pro Mod final, and Sullivan drilled the tree with an .020-second reaction time, but Gustafson drove around him for the win, 3.77 to 3.85.

Bradenton Mickey Thomson Radial Wars winner James Lawrence was hoping to double up in Commerce, but he was outshined in qualifying by 2016 champion DeWayne Mills, who took the top spot with a 3.88 run at 206 mph. In the final round, it was Marty Stinnett and his Mustang facing Mills and his Camaro. The drivers were neck and neck down the track and both made moves toward the centerline. Race Wrap – Riveting Racing Takes the Stage at NMCA Season Opener

Santa Ana CA – The racing was extraordinary at the 16th Annual NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem, March 8-11, 2018 at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida.

In VP Racing Fuels Xtreme Pro Mod, where the quickest cars on the property pounded the pavement, Randy Adler ran a personal best of 3.70 in his Bel-Air on his way to the top in qualifying. While he was poised to make it past copious amounts of cutthroat competition, he was forced to lift in the first round of eliminations, and that opened the door for a final round featuring Don Walsh Jr. and Jason Hamstra. Both drivers were close on the tree, but Walsh Jr. wheeled to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle with an incredible 3.70 to Hamstra’s 3.74.

In Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, DeWayne Mills motored to a 3.88 in his Camaro to lead qualifying, but in the final, James Lawrence landed a 3.94 and the win in his new Corvette over Marty Stinnett, who turned on the red light with his Mustang before running it out to a 3.85.

Vortech Superchargers Street Outlaw saw Daniel Pharris post a 4.36 in his Mustang to set the pace in qualifying. The final round, however, saw Shawn Ayers advancing to the win with a 4.33 in Fletcher Cox’s Gold Dust Mustang over Pharris, who was also 4.33, but not quite as quick at the hit.

Manson took the pole and would charge into the final against Buginga, who gave it his best shot by leaving first, but was passed by Manson who took the win with a 4.31 to Buginga’s off-pace 4.78.

In Edelbrock Renegade competition, it was Bart Tobener who took the trip to the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle after Frank Varela tripped his red light at the start of the final round. Tobener had qualified his Coyote-powered S550 Mustang at the top of the list with a 7.33 elapsed time.
