Owner Matt Bieneman Weighs in on MBE Successes, Performance Based Racing and the Direction of the PDRA

PITTSBORO, NC – MBE is the leading induction specialist in the country, with cylinder heads and intake manifolds MBEused in championship winning programs from NASCAR and NHRA Top Fuel, to Sprint Cars, Dirt Late Models, NHRA Pro Stock and more. Owner Matt Bieneman began his education on his father Dave Bieneman’s Top Fuel car while he was still in his pre-teen years. From that young age, the Detroit native has never stopped learning and striving for greater performance in racing. Now his Mooresville, NC based business is a clear leader in cylinder head and intake manifold technology.

“Dad raced Top Fuel from the early 80s up through the early 2000s and won numerous IHRA races,” Bieneman relayed of his not-so-humble beginnings. “When I was 17 I went to work for a Pro Stock engine builder around where I grew up in Detroit named Sam Gianino. From there I worked for Chuck Etchells for a couple of years on the first four second Funny Car and then from there went to work for Connie Kalitta and Dick Lahaie. I was there for their Championship years in the 90s.

Meet the First-Ever Miss PDRA, Jessica Clemons

PITTSBORO, NC – Small town country girl turned model and soon-to-be TV star, Jessica Clemons, has been named Jessica Clemonsthe first-ever Miss PDRA. Born and raised in Alabama, Jessica loves the country life and all that goes with it. She was raised on the sports of hunting and stock car racing, and has combined those with her beauty and poise to develop an impressive modeling career with organizations such as NASCAR and Realtree. Now, Jessica brings her years of experience and racing passion to the Professional Drag Racers Association.

“I’m excited to bring a fresh new look and upbeat attitude to this growing racing series. I have a vast knowledge of drag racing and stock car racing, and hope our fans will see my passion and excitement,” Jessica said of joining the PDRA family. “I helped build the race car and worked for a dirt track team, so I have first-hand knowledge of how much work goes into building a race car. Racing has always been a passion of mine.

“I’m looking forward to the experience and travel opportunities with the PDRA. It will be exciting to meet the drivers and, most importantly, the fans. I will enjoy making appearances on behalf of the PDRA and helping to build our fan base.”

PDRA WELCOMES HEINTZ PERFORMANCE AS SERIES SPONSOR

For over 40 years Heintz Performance has been one of the most respected names in the automotive performance Heintz Brosworld in the Southeast and beyond. The Professional Drag Racers Association is proud to announce that the Statesville, North Carolina-based company has signed an agreement with the PDRA to participate as a performance partner for the upcoming 2015 season.

Heintz Performance has its roots in the mid-1970s when brothers Steve and Mike Heintz pursued their love of competition and all things automotive by building a drag car that they raced at tracks near their North Carolina home.

Wesley Jones Puts Joey Martin in PX for Dallas

PITTSBORO, NC – Wesley Jones jumped back into the Pro Mod scene in 2014 after taking a three year hiatus from Wesley Jonesthe driver’s seat. His return showed great progress in his Pro Extreme program with a ninth place finish in national points standings. He’s positioned for an even greater showing in 2015, but will get a late start at the PDRA Pro Extreme Championship chase due to a detached retina. Healing from surgery to fix the issue will prohibit Jones from racing at the Texas Nationals next weekend. It won’t keep him from being present, however, as Jones has made an agreement with famed PX racer Joey Martin to drive in a one-race deal.

Since 2001 Joey Martin has been behind the wheel of a Pro Mod, making a name for himself and his car owners. This year he had not planned to pilot a car, but instead focus solely on his Joey Martin Race Cars business. When the opportunity to drive for Jones at Dallas came up, however, he couldn’t turn it down. The ‘41 Willys Jones fields in PX is the same car in which Martin got his Pro Mod start.

Chassis Engineering Commits to Top Sportsman as Sponsor of Fast Four

PITTSBORO, NC – The Professional Drag Racers Association Top Sportsman (TS) category was a hit with racers and Chassis Engineeringfans alike in the series’ inaugural season. The appeal of the class comes from the challenge it takes to qualify for the 16 car field and then bracket race a doorslammer at speeds close to 200 MPH. Top Sportsman is top of the line for sportsman racing, the fastest class available before moving to professional categories.

To add even greater draw to the class, the PDRA instituted a race within a race with the Top Sportsman Fast Four. Each PDRA National Event the four fastest qualifiers have the opportunity to match race for $500 winner-take-all additional prize money.

Pro Extreme Heats up with Return of Alex Hossler

PITTSBORO, NC – There’s no arguing the fact that there’s some pretty tough competition in the PDRA’s NAS Racing Alex HosslerPro Extreme class, and it’s going to get a whole lot tougher in 2015 when Alex Hossler, one of the undisputed top guns in the category, throws his hat into the ring. Already the domain of some of the wickedest doorslammers and most talented drivers in the world of eighth-mile competition, Hossler brings experience, a championship-winning attitude and a brand-new blown Corvette to the PDRA wars this season.

Hossler, who is 37 and the owner of a Chevrolet, Cadillac, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram dealership, started on the path to competitive success when he began bracket racing at a track near his hometown of Canton, Illinois, when he was in his teens.

Maxima Racing Oils Joins Growing List of PDRA Partners

PITTSBORO, NC – Maxima Racing Oils has been a powerhouse in motorsports for over three decades. The name Maxima Racing OilMaxima Racing Oil is fairly new to the drag racing scene, however, and they are partnering with the Professional Drag Racers Association to build relationships with racers and engine builders in the industry.

PDRA to Open 2015 Season at Texas Motorplex

PITTSBORO, NC – The world champions of the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) will begin their title PDRA PN Harrisdefenses Mar. 19-21, in the season-opening PDRA Texas Nationals at the famed Texas Motorplex in Ennis, just south of Dallas. This will be the first visit to the Lone Star state for the all-eighth-mile series that will hold 10 races this year after expanding from eight events in its inaugural 2014 season.

“To be honest I can’t wait to bring PDRA drag racing to the great fans in Texas because I know they’re going to love what they see,” said PDRA Race Director Bob Harris, who recently was inducted into the North Carolina Drag Racing Hall of Fame. “We had a fantastic first year, but I already know this season is going to be even bigger and better. Kicking it off at such a prestigious track as the Texas Motorplex is perfect, too. It sends a message that professional eighth-mile drag racing deserves to be seen on the sport’s biggest and best stages.”

Professional Drag Racers Association Partners with Pilot Flying J to Curb Travel Costs in 2015

PITTSBORO, NC – The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) is proud to announce a unique and valuable Pilot and Flying Jprogram with Pilot Flying J that will provide a fuel discount card valid at all Pilot Flying J owned and operated travel centers to PDRA teams.

The 250+ race teams that participate in the PDRA Series will travel through dozens of states, logging thousands of miles to reach the destinations of the 2015 schedule. The PDRA will issue each series driver a fuel discount card to be used at most Pilot Travel Centers or Flying J Travel Plazas across the country for fuel savings.
