Mountain Motors Return to ‘The Rock’ with PDRA Spring Nationals
PITTSBORO, NC – Again and again Rockingham Dragway has been the site for historical Mountain Motor Pro Stock 
runs. After a one-year hiatus these naturally aspirated beasts will return to Rockingham Dragway, running in the Extreme Pro Stock class of the PDRA Spring Nationals, April 7-9. Several of the biggest names in the field will be making their return to professional racing with this event. Two-time world champion John Montecalvo, fellow New Yorker John Pluchino, and Dwayne Rice’s Mountain Motor Mafia entry will all take to historic Rockingham Dragway. Plus, former champion Doug Kirk is resurrecting his Extreme Pro Stock interests and will also be vying for the first Extreme Pro Stock title of the season, along with a host of others.
“Extreme Pro Stock is going to be a great part of our show at the Spring Nationals,” stated PDRA Race Director, Bob Harris. “We know our fans missed them and we’re excited to have Pro Stock back. No one will want to miss their return!”
Quarter-Max Support Brings PDRA Action to Live Feed
PITTSBORO, NC – One of the best features of the PDRA, for both racers and fans, is the Motor Mania Live Feed. 
With every run down the track broadcast anywhere there’s an internet connection, historic wins, record breaking runs and competition rivalries are played out on phone, tablet, computer and television screens across the globe. Add to that candid driver interviews and the Live Feed delivers PDRA action like nothing else.
One company in particular is largely responsible for bringing the Live Feed to PDRA. Quarter-Max has supported PDRA efforts from the beginning and toward the end of the first PDRA season, stepped up to sponsor the Quarter-Max Top End Zone, a segment of the Live Feed which highlights driver interviews right after they finish a round of competition. Later, Quarter-Max stepped up again to sponsor the Live Feed Starting Line Cam.
PDRA Spring Nationals Return to Rockingham Dragway April 7-9
PITTSBORO, NC – The Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) brings its one-of-a-kind drag racing to 
Rockingham Dragway April 7-9 for the Spring Nationals. The baddest doorslammers on the planet will battle it out, going from 0 to 230 MPH in just 660 feet and less than 4 seconds. Blown, nitrous-oxide assisted, naturally aspirated and turbo cars will all take on the legendary eighth-mile to see who will be crowned kings -or queens- of “The Rock.”
“The Blazing Angel” and “The Beast” Jet Cars will be going head to head in a unique jet car match race. The PDRA is also thrilled to feature Danny O’Day’s ATI Wheel Stander, the world’s quickest wheel stander.
Rockingham Dragway has a longstanding history of professional eighth-mile racing, often providing a massive turnout and record breaking runs. In NAS Racing Pro Extreme local legends Todd Tutterow and Terry Leggett will hope to dominate the quickest and fastest class of the PDRA.
Tommy Franklin Goes Down in History as First Ever Flatout Gaskets Nitrous Wars Victor
PITTSBORO, NC – With the air and the Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park eighth-mile primed for record breaking 
runs that’s exactly what PDRA Series Opener fans got. This meant it would take a career best for someone to take home the Flatout Gaskets Nitrous Wars Trophy, just introduced at this race. The trophy, a large nitrous bottle, would be the Pro Nitrous number one qualifier’s to take home from Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park for bragging rights until the next event, in which it is to be handed off to the next pole sitter.
In the third round of qualifying on Friday evening, the first pair out featured Virginia’s Tommy Franklin and Georgia’s “Stevie Fast” Jackson. Fans could feel it in the air. They were about to witness something spectacular. Franklin and Jackson recorded the quickest and fastest side-by-side run in the history of the class. Both ran over 203 MPH and Franklin edged out Jackson with a 3.686 elapsed time to Jackson’s 3.697.

PDRA Series Opener Postponed Until March 17-19
PITTSBORO, NC – “Due to the forecast leading up to and during the event, our PDRA Nationals at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, originally scheduled for this weekend, March 10-12, will be run next weekend, March 17-19,” PDRA Race Director, Bob Harris announced.
A forecasted five to eight inches of rain is expected in Tulsa through Wednesday with temperatures only in the 50s. That amount of rain in such short time would mean pit area parking would be saturated and not withstand racer rigs. Additional rain is expected through the weekend.
PDRA Welcomes Extreme Pro Stock Back to Roster for Five Events
PITTSBORO, NC – The naturally aspirated kings of drag racing will make their return to the PDRA at five select 
events in 2016. During Extreme Pro Stock’s one-year hiatus, racers, fans and staff felt the class’ absence and worked diligently to ensure it would once again be contested on the eighth-mile circuit.
“We are excited to welcome Extreme Pro Stock back,” stated PDRA Race Director, Bob Harris. “Last season we got many phone calls, emails and questions about its absence. It’s a fan favorite with a rich history and we are excited to make it a part of the PDRA show once again.”
Extreme Pro Stock will be contested at the PDRA events at Rockingham Dragway (April 8-10), Texas Motorplex (May 19-21), Maryland International Raceway (July 14-16), GALOT Motorsports Park (Sept 8-10), and Virginia Motorsports Park (October 20-22).

PITTSBORO, NC – PDRA’s Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous presented by MoTeC class has always been a fan favorite, 
but in recent years has gained even greater popularity as the class develops more of an elite status. Just qualifying for an event puts racers in an exclusive club thanks to the tightest competition of any class in the PDRA. On race day, it would be no surprise to see any of the 16 qualifiers make it to the final round. The field is often separated by less than a tenth. These flame-throwing cars of all makes and models capture the attention of fans while the larger-than-life personalities behind the wheel capture their hearts.
Inspired by PDRA fans and racing community, NITROUS WARS began as a grassroots movement in which word-of-mouth exploded around drivers, teams and engine builders. And so, PDRA embraced its “race within a race” to make Flatout Gaskets NITROUS WARS official.
PDRA Recognizes Returning Sponsors and Welcomes New Sponsors for 2016 Season
PITTSBORO, NC – Now entering its third season, the Professional Drag Racers Association is proud to recognize its 2016 sponsors. Several of the class sponsors are returning for the second or third year. NAS Racing has not only once again committed to the Pro Extreme class but will also sponsor the PDRA World Finals at Virginia Motorsports Park, October 20-22. For the third consecutive year Switzer Dynamics brings Pro Nitrous action to the PDRA. Drag965 is returning to back Pro Extreme Motorcycle, as will MagnaFuel with Top Sportsman. Mel Bush Motorsports is continuing support of the PDRA by presenting the Sunshine State Shootout in Bradenton, Florida, September 29 through October 1. The majority of the PDRA sponsors have continued to pledge their support through major, associate and contingency sponsorships for the 2016 season.

Tucci Returns to PDRA Announcing Team
PITTSBORO, NC – One of the most sought-after announcers in the industry returns as ‘The Voice’ of the PDRA. Al 
Tucci has one of the longest running commentator careers in drag racing with his own unique, personable style of entertainment. After a one year hiatus from the PDRA, Tucci will join the 2016 tour to bring fans and racers a fresh, engaging, high-energy address of each event.
Tucci joins Carl Robinson and Lee Sebring to cover events from the tower, the top end, and in the pits. The PDRA will also continue its coverage through the Live Feed by Motor Mania TV.
Tucci got his start announcing for track operators Broadway Bob and Jim Ledford and has announced both in the US and internationally. In 2015, Tucci continued his presence at major radial tire events, including the Radial Tire Racing Association, as well as many other high profile drag racing events.
