Super Chevy Show has Largest Turnout of Racers and Car Show Attendees at Palm Beach International Raceway

JUPITER, FL – Palm Beach International Raceway™, TEN: The Enthusiast Network, and Publishers of Super Chevy PBIR - Super Chevy 2016Magazine celebrated the Official Super Chevy Show over the weekend and the racers and car show participants showed up in record numbers for the two-day event. The world’s largest Chevy automotive event featured drag racing action, a premiere car and truck show, sold out swap meet, car corral, vendor midway and much more.

The drag strip competition was highlighted by several different sportsman classes, the Camaro Gen 5 challenge, E.T. Bracket classes, Junior Dragster, Ultra Street, and the X632/Outlaw 632 over the weekend. Each class had an opportunity to walk away with a cash prize and bragging rights as the winner of the Super Chevy Show.

Top Fuel Driver Dave Connolly Wins Points Championship in Rain Shortened Dick Moroso Memorial 5-Day Bracket Championship

JUPITER, FL – On Wednesday, November 18 racing was plagued by numerous morning showers delaying time runs. Dave Connolly - photo by Bryan EppsAt around 1 pm the cars began to make their first passes only to be stopped again by rain. Once the track was dried drivers were eager to get racing and test the surface for the first time.

As eliminations began just after 5 pm, drivers were fierce off the starting line with lightning quick reactions times making the first round of eliminations intense. Just as everyone began to fall into the racing rhythm with cars continuing to go down the track, everything was halted by mother nature again. After surveying the track conditions, officials decided to stop racing for the night and pick up in the morning.

When the morning arrived on Thursday it was a different story concerning weather… the sun was shining! Racing quickly resumed with some racers starting to show their prowess. Sean Lewis from Hampstead, Maryland had quick reaction times throughout the eliminations going .000, .007, .003 only to be knocked out in Round 7. Lewis faced off against fellow Maryland resident Bobby Spence of Woodbine. Spence went on to receive a bye run for the Semi Finals while the No. 1 qualifier Luke Bogacki from Caterville, Illinois faced Peeps Pennington. Bodacki went -.007 seconds on the light giving the win to Three Rivers, Texas resident Pennington. Spence, dialing in at 5.86 seconds, now faced Pennington for the final, who dialed in at 5.86 seconds. Pennington fired off a .009 second reaction time and ended up taking the win light.

Battles Intensify To Earn Championship Points

Final Race for the 2015 Championship and PBIR Team Finals Spots 

JUPITER, FL – When the IHRA Summit SuperSeries Bracket Racing Series returns from its summer vacation on Bill PollardSaturday, August 1 at Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR), drivers and teams will have the points championship and the postseason on the line.

Of course at the top, there are the fights for season championships, however this race is also the cutoff for the IHRA Team Finals, drivers are jockeying for 40 positions available on the PBIR team.

The 2015 season in Top Eliminator (Box) Sponsored by South Florida Choppers has seen Bill Pollard atop the championship standings since February. Pollard boasts only a 50 point lead over second place Randy Weber and 82 point lead over third place James Snyder. With the standings this close Pollard will have to hold off the competition to take home the championship.

PBIR IHRA SUMMIT SUPERSERIES Race #5 & 6 Results 

The day started out the wrong way with an out of nowhere rain shower causing a four hour delay. A big THANKS! to Palm Beach International Racewayall the racers and fans who patiently waited while the PBIR Track Prep Team got the 1320 back ready for racing. Once running commenced, fans saw fierce battles throughout the day, across all race classes. As a good rhythm began to develop, a freak power outage took out the overhead track lights, putting a brief stop to the racing action until power was restored. Racing concluded at 11:55 pm.

The 2015 points leader, Bill Pollard from Lake Worth, FL. lost during round 4 due to a red light to Claude Debonis. Debonis, the winner of that match up, from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. went on to battle Jupiter native Keith Hnasko in the finals. Hnasko red lighted to give Debonis, who had a .008 RT, running a 4.805 ET at 117.63 mph, the victory.

Camaro ZL1 Breaks ET Record at Palm Beach International Raceway

JUPITER, FL – Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) fans witnessed a record ET for a street legal be shattered ZL-1 Camaroon the drag strip during Test and Tune Wednesday night. Hometown racer, Stephen Vigoa beat the prior quarter-mile record with a pass of 9.356-seconds at 146.78 miles per hour in his red 2013 ZL1. He did so with a stock bottom end, an aftermarket camshaft, ported stock heads, a ported supercharger, a little nitrous, the usual list of bolt-on’s, and was it mentioned – it is street legal.

According to Vigoa, it felt very different for him using the nitrous spray, stating “it was a different kind of boost, really putting you in the seat.”

Fifth Annual PRO Winter Warm-up Returns to Palm Beach International Raceway on January 16-17, 2015

Event kicks off the 2015 professional drag racing season

JUPITER, FL – Palm Beach International Raceway™ (PBIR) is pleased to once again partner with the Professional Racers Owners Pro Winter Warm-UpOrganization, Inc. (PRO) in hosting the fifth annual PRO Winter Warm-up presented by Bennett Auto Supply on January 16 and 17, 2015. The largest drag racing event in South Florida, PRO Winter Warm-up features professional drivers and race teams, testing and tuning Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars under the lights at PBIR’s Drag Strip. With no points or purses on the line, the teams prepare for their 2015 racing season with performance tests and practice runs at PBIR.

Among the professional teams which are set to race at PBIR is Don Schumacher Racing, whose drivers Tony “The Sarge” Schumacher and Matt Hagan both earned a 2014 championship. Hagan earned his second Funny Car world championship, and the most successful Top Fuel driver in history, Schumacher clinched his record eighth drag racing championship.
