KANAGCRUZ MOBILITY JUMPS ON BOARD FOR OPENING WEEKEND VICTORY WITH NORTHERN FORCE

LONDON, ON – It didn’t take long for the freshly minted partnership between the legendary Northern Force racing team and St. Catherines, Ontario based mobility company Kangacruz to hop into the winners circle, with the team taking the CAN-AM Stock/Super Stock event championship this past Saturday at historic St. Thomas Raceway Park in Sparta, Ontario.

After a nearly two-year hiatus from driving, and in only his second race at the controls of the team’s new GT/EA Chevrolet Cavalier, second generation racer Jory Elliott came up with a strong driving performance which, combined with the knowledge and experience of his Hall of Fame inducted father and crew member Kirk Vanni, propelled the team to success on the tricky 1/8th mile racing surface.

“We headed to the track Friday and did some testing to give me some seat time and to get a read on the updates that were made to the car during the off-season,” said Elliott. “That test session provided us with some good data to work with on Saturday and we feel it gave us an advantage over our competitors.”

THE NORTHERN FORCE AWAKENS IN 2016

LONDON, ON – The year 2016 was a record breaking one for the Star Wars franchise and its latest edition, The Northern Force RacingForce Awakens. The Northern Force drag racing team, which gained its namesake from the quote made famous in the early versions of the franchise, “May the force be with you.”, hopes to draw on some of the latest installments good fortune and have an awakening of its own as it eyes the upcoming race season.

A lot of people don’t know that the name of the team came from the height of the original Star Wars craze,” mentioned team driver Jory Elliott. “My dad’s partner with the first Funny Car, Vince Vanni, wanted to capitalize on the success the movie franchise was experiencing at the time, and thanks to a suggestion by my mom, they ultimately landed on Northern Force as the name, which proved to be a really strong marketing play for years to come, even after the Star Wars buzz had worn off.”

NORTHERN FORCE RACING RETURNING TO FULL-TIME NHRA COMPETITION IN 2014

LONDON, ON Although the Northern Force Racing team has participated in NHRA competition, turning in solid performances, Northern Force Racingthroughout the last 30 years, it hasn’t been since the early 1980’s, when current team owner and crew chief Bob Elliott led the national point’s standings in the Alcohol Funny Car category, that they’ve taken a serious run at an NHRA championship.  In 2014 the team will return to its roots, so to speak, when they dust off their suitcases to chase the NHRA North Central Division 3 championship. In doing so, they’ll have the familiar red, white and blue colours of Project Track Champion Access Motorsports Racing on the sides of their A Modified Super Stock entry for the third consecutive season.

The Division 3 schedule will offer up lots of firsts for second generation driver Jory Elliott, including a visit to the fabled quarter mile at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis in late April. Home to some of the sport’s most outstanding performances and the world’s most prestigious drag race every year, the U.S. Nationals has been a focal point in the history of the Northern Force team as well.

MOVEMBER FOR MENS HEALTH A ‘HAIR RAISING’ EXPERIENCE FOR NORTHERN FORCE RACING

LONDON, ON Over the past several years the term MOvember has gained plenty of traction as a way to raise funds in support of men’s health issues, with men around the world growing out their moustaches in support of the cause. This year the Northern Force Racing team decided to officially get in on the action by growing their MO’s to show support and the results were nothing short of outstanding.

“I’ve personally been growing my stache out for the past three years when MOvember comes around,” said driver Jory Elliott. “This year I thought it’d be fun if we put a team together and I even convinced my dad (Team Owner, Bob Elliott) to grow his out for the month. I mean, the guy had a mean stache in the 80’s so I thought at the very least he could revisit some of his former glory.”

The team set a modest goal to raise $500 over the course of the month long fundraising campaign, but a late-month surge, due to some well-timed contests, pushed the final tally to more than $1,100.

NITRO JAM NATIONALS PROVIDES BIG WINS AWAY FROM THE TRACK FOR NORTHERN FORCE RACING

LONDON, ON It’s not often that a race team can experience a tough weekend like the one Northern Force Racing had on track at the MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals and still walk away feeling like they were winners.

Away from the race track the team had the honor of teaming up with Community Living London and its Access Summer Leisure Program. The partnership included display’s at both the elementary and secondary aged camps in the days leading up to the event, as well as a raffle that provided tickets and transportation to the race for one child and their family from each camp.

“Going to the camps was definitely special, but having those kids come to the race and to be able to spend some time with them in such a stimulating environment was really amazing,” said driver Jory Elliott. “I can’t thank everyone enough at Community Living London, all of the media outlets that provided coverage, the event staff at the track and our sponsors, MOPAR, Clearshot Customs and Ohsweken Speedway, who made it possible for us to do all of this.”

LONDON, ON – The Northern Force Racing team will kick off its 2013 campaign this coming Sunday, at the DSE Sportsman Series Weekend, when they take to the drag strip at Toronto Motorsports Park. Wingham, ON – It’s been a nearly surreal season for the Northern Force Racing team from Wingham, Ontario, with two wins in only five outings, including the biggest of those victories coming at the IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals in Grand Bend during the month of July. That win qualified the team for its trip to the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals in Memphis, Tennessee this coming weekend, where they will compete in two high-profile races.

The event, which showcases the best sportsman competitors from across North America, will feature two races for the Northern Force team, both of which have special significance in relation to the overall outcome of the weekend. The first race, the Summit Sportsman Spectacular, takes place Friday and Saturday and is the last opportunity for racers in every class to earn a spot in the Tournament of Champions, which takes place Sunday, and a chance to win the 2012 IHRA World Championship.

Northern Force Team Will Compete in Two Events to Finish Out 2012 Season

Wingham, ON – The inspirational message of Project Track Champion will continue to spread throughout North America in 2013 thanks in large part to the dedication of project founder Denny Snider and his commitment to once again sponsor the Northern Force Racing team next season.

This season was a landmark setting affair for both Project Track Champion and Northern Force Racing. The debut of the partnership in Quebec during the month of July marked the first time that a PTC branded vehicle had travelled outside of the province of Ontario, as well as gave the Northern Force team its first win in more than 20 years, and second-generation driver Jory Elliott his first ever victory. The team followed that up just nine days later with a win during the IHRA MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals, at their home track in Grand Bend, Ontario.

The win in Grand Bend guaranteed the team a spot in the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions, which takes place in Memphis, Tennessee and will crown the World Champions for 2012, the middle of October. “We weren’t sure we could even afford to make the trip to Tennessee because of how small of a budget we run on,” said team owner Bob Elliott. “But thanks to Denny and PTC re-signing for next year we’re gonna be able to make that trip, which is a huge honor for us.”

London, ON – In a span of just nine days, Jory Elliott, driving his Super Stock A Modified, put new sponsor Project Track Champion in the Winner’s Circle twice, with the second of those victories coming this past weekend at the MOPAR Nitro Jam Nationals in Grand Bend, Ontario where he took home the Ironman trophy for his triumph in Super Stock competition.

“It was a good feeling to get my first win last week in Napierville, but to come to my home track, at one of the biggest drag races in all of Canada and win is just unbelievable,” said an ecstatic Elliott.

With a little luck, and a deadly consistent race car, Jory and his father, who also serves as crew chief, navigated the field better than anyone on race day. “They say you have to get one lucky round to win one of these things and we definitely did in the first round on Saturday night.
