J. FORCE, B. FORCE, ANDERSON AND POLLACHECK CLAIM TOP SPOTS AT NGK NTK NHRA FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS AT ZMAX DRAGWAY

CHARLOTTE – A father and daughter duo will start race day atop both nitro categories for just the second time in NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series history, as John Force and Brittany Force finished as the No. 1 qualifiers in Funny Car and Top Fuel, respectively, on Saturday at the 11th annual NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway.

Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Scotty Pollacheck (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also qualified No. 1 in their respective categories at the fourth race of the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.

The father-daughter Force duo accomplished the feat at Houston in 2019 and just more than two years later, they enjoyed No. 1 qualifier together on Saturday in Charlotte. They will now try to share the winner’s circle for the first time on Sunday.

B. FORCE, DEJORIA, ANDERSON AND GLADSTONE TAKE PROVISIONAL NO. 1 SPOTS AT NGK NTK NHRA FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS AT ZMAX DRAGWAY

CHARLOTTE – A pair of women ruled qualifying on Friday at zMAX Dragway, as Brittany Force and Alexis DeJoria powered to the provisional No. 1 spot in Top Fuel and Funny Car, respectively, during the opening round of qualifying at the NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte.

Greg Anderson (Pro Stock) and Joey Gladstone (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also provisional No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the fourth race of the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season. Qualifying continues on Saturday and zMAX Dragway will be able to operate at full capacity. After an executive order from Gov. Roy Cooper on Friday, grandstand limitations were lifted, allowing fans to return to zMAX Dragway without limitation.

Force put on a show under the lights on Friday in her 11,000-horsepower Flav-R-Pac dragster, going 3.662-seconds at 333.08 mph to make the quickest and fastest runs in zMAX Dragway history. Force, who also owns both ends of the national record, is in line to grab her second No. 1 qualifier of the 2021 season and 22nd in her career.

LUCAS OIL NHRA WINTERNATIONALS RESCHEDULED FOR JULY, FLAV-R-PAC NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS CANCELED

GLENDORA, CA – NHRA and Auto Club Raceway at Pomona have teamed up to announce July 30 – Aug. 1 as the rescheduled date of the 61st annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com.

The Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, which traditionally kicks off the NHRA season, was postponed due to state health guidelines in California. NHRA and the track have worked very closely with state and local officials to find a new date for the event and are confident that the new date will allow more fans to attend the famed race.

“We are very excited to have the Winternationals back on our schedule,” said Kasey Coler, NHRA Vice President of Track Management and Operations. “The Winternationals is a historic event and we’re thrilled to be returning to Pomona.”

NHRA and Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash., have come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Flav-R-Pac NHRA Northwest Nationals. “NHRA needed to make a decision to move forward to allow teams and touring staff time for travel preparations,” said Glen Cromwell, NHRA President.

E3 SPARK PLUGS NHRA PRO MOD DRAG RACING SERIES POINTS LEADER JUSTIN BOND LOOKS TO KEEP ROLLING IN HIS FIRST FOUR-WIDE RACE AT ZMAX DRAGWAY

CHARLOTTE – Dating back to the end of last season, there’s been no driver in the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series who has been as impressive as Justin Bond. He’s advanced to three of the past four final rounds, including the first two events of 2021, picking up two wins in the process in his ProCharger-powered Bahrain 1 Racing Camaro.

The latest win came at the most recent event in Atlanta when Bond beat two-time defending world champ Stevie “Fast” Jackson on a holeshot in the final round, furthering the strong momentum the Canadian standout has built. Now, he’ll look to win at zMAX Dragway at his four-wide debut as part of this weekend’s NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte.

PREVIOUS EVENT WINNERS SHAWN LANGDON & CRUZ PEDREGON LOOK TO KEEP ROLLING AT ZMAX DRAGWAY DURING 11TH ANNUAL NGK NTK NHRA FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS

CHARLOTTE – Heading into this weekend’s NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway, Top Fuel standout Shawn Langdon is looking forward to the chance to make history. He is the most recent Funny Car winner in the race and having moved back to the Top Fuel ranks, the former NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series has the chance to be the first driver in NHRA history to win in both Top Fuel and Funny Car at a four-wide event.

Langdon went to the final quad in Top Fuel in both 2013 and 2014, and won in Funny Car in 2019, and the Kalitta Motorsports driver will have the chance to finish the job this weekend in Top Fuel in his 11,000-horsepower DHL dragster. Del Worsham and J.R. Todd are the only other drivers to reach a final in both nitro classes in the 11-year history of four-wide racing, and Langdon is eager for the chance to pick up an early-season win at the sport’s biggest spectacle.

EXCITEMENT ABOUNDS AS NHRA CAMPING WORLD DRAG RACING SERIES HEADS TO ZMAX DRAGWAY FOR 11TH ANNUAL NGK NTK NHRA FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS

CHARLOTTE, NC – The sport’s ultimate thrill ride started at zMAX Dragway and the excitement of four-wide drag racing returns to the Bellagio of drag strips for the upcoming NGK NTK NHRA Four-Nationals, which takes place May 14-16.

It marks the fourth race of the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season and the first time the top NHRA stars have raced at zMAX Dragway since the 2019 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With that in mind, the anticipation is high as fans will be treated to the spectacular and unique spectacle of four 11,000-horsepower nitro-burning machines simultaneously blasting down the track.

Fans will be ready to see their first four-wide action at the track in two years, and are eagerly ready to take in one of the most memorable scenes in motorsports. All grandstanding seating for Saturday’s qualifying action is sold out, in accordance with current capacity limitations, while only limited tickets remain for Friday’s qualifying and Sunday eliminations.

NHRA THUNDER VALLEY NATIONALS ADDED TO 2021 SCHEDULE, NHRA VIRGINIA NATIONALS POSTPONED

GLENDORA, CA – NHRA and Bristol Dragway are pleased to announce the addition of the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals to the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.

The fan-favorite event will be held October 15-17, during the heat of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Drivers in all four NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series professional categories will continue their battle towards a world championship in the valley of Bristol Dragway. The seven-race Countdown kicks off at Maple Grove Raceway and will conclude at the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona.

“We couldn’t be happier to bring Bristol back on board for the 2021 season,” said Glen Cromwell, NHRA President. “The NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals is a staple on the NHRA circuit. JUSTIN BOND GETS WIN AT FINAL E3 SPARK PLUGS NHRA PRO MOD DRAG RACING SERIES RACE AT ATLANTA DRAGWAY

COMMERCE, GA – After finishing as the runner-up at the opening race of the 2021 E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series season, Justin Bond finished the job on Sunday, beating back-to-back world champ Stevie “Fast” Jackson on a holeshot in the final round of the final race at Atlanta Dragway.

The race, which was presented by Alsum Farms/Wisconsin Potato, is the second event of the 2021 E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service season, and Bond picked up his second career victory.

He went 5.738-seconds at 249.49 mph in his ProCharger-powered Bahrain 1 Racing Camaro to beat Jackson, who went a quicker 5.724 at 252.43 at his home track. After qualifying third, Bond, whose first win in the class came a year ago in Houston, beat Alex Laughlin, Dwayne Wolfe and Brandon Snider to reach his fourth final round. He posted a .038 reaction time in the championship round against Jackson to hold off the standout driver and grab the victory.
