Champions crowned at the Western Conference Finals

TULSA, OK – Rylie Trumble (age 12), Braden Bettis (14), and LJ Grissom (16-17) joined the list of multi-time champions when they outlasted the field in their respective age groups at the 2018 NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Fairlife YUP!, one of two national events in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League. Abigail Wilson (6-9), Emmy Shepherd (10), Kennedy Hale (11), Kade Guidry (13), and Dylan Hough (14) were also victorious. Texas Motorplex Team 1 took home the team championship.

After watching brother Gage win the 10-year-old title last year, Wilson joined him as Western Conference Finals champ, defeating Brody Tigue in the 6-9 class final round. Wilson, a Thunder Valley Raceway Park runner who hails from Moore, Okla., got the lead on the starting line and carried the advantage to a 12.032 (11.90 dial) to 12.041 (11.90) victory over Euless, Texas’ Tigue, a member of Texas Motorplex’s team.

Tulsa Raceway Park and Fairlife YUP! Team Up For NHRA Jr. Western Conference Finals

GLENDORA, CA – Osage Tulsa Raceway Park enters its third year hosting the illustrious NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Western Conference Finals, one of two national events in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League. For 2018, Tulsa Raceway Park has partnered with Coca-Cola brand Fairlife YUP!, and together, they aim to grow the event to new heights of success.

Highlighted by the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Fairlife YUP!, the weeklong program features well over 300 Jr. Dragsters competing in a number of different events, from index racing to numerous bracket events.

Poe earns fifth Conference Finals title to headline Eastern Conference Finals

Cade Poe continued to add to his record as the winningest driver in the history of the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League’s National Championships/Conference Finals when he added a fifth Wally to his collection. Poe, who won four Western Conference Finals titles, made his first trip across country to the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance pay off when he outlasted the field in the 15-year-old age category. No other competitor in history has more than two wins in National Championships/Conference Finals competition.

Poe was joined in the winner’s circle by seven first-time champions: Shawn Sanseverino (age 6-9), Brady Snack (10), Wyatt Palmatier (11), Savannah Bilton (12), Richie Fluck (13), Ashley Pumphrey (14), and Zach Lewis (16-17). Mason-Dixon Dragway won the team championship.

NHRA JR. DRAG RACING EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS BRINGS THE BEST YOUNG DRAG RACERS TO BRISTOL DRAGWAY

BRISTOL, TN – NHRA’s Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance will take place at Thunder Valley Bristol Dragway Thursday through Saturday, July 20- 22. The event will feature more than 500 drivers, from 6-17 years old, in eight racing categories piloting half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower motors reaching speeds up to 85 mph covering the eighth-mile track in as quick as 7.90 seconds.  They will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the event purse.  The event is one of two conference finals events in the NHRA Summit Jr. Drag Racing League.

Each of the ten members of the Team Champions at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Eastern Conference Finals event will receive the coveted NHRA Wally trophy.  Individual champions will each earn $1,500 along with a NHRA Wally trophy and champions jacket.

Cline Wins Second Title; Seven Others Pick Up First Championships at Western Conference Finals

TULSA, OK- Hayley Cline won the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance for the second time in her career to highlight the 2017 edition of the first of two national events in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League. Cline, the 2012 8-9 class champ, won this year’s 13-year-old age group and was joined in the winner’s circle by seven first-time winners: Nolan Baker (age 6-9), Gage Wilson (10), Jonathan McClain (11), Graeme Rufenacht (12), Caylyn Cunningham (14), Monica Roberts (15), and Colin Broermann. Host track Osage Tulsa Raceway Park dominated the team competition to earn its first team championship.

Underwood, Iowa’s Baker, a representative of I29 Dragway, outlasted Larned, Kan., competitor Caleb McDonald to win the 6-9 age-group title. McDonald, who raced for SRCA Dragstrip, got the reaction-time edge in the final but carried too much momentum on the top end and broke out with a 12.54 (12.63 dial). That opened the door for Baker, who won with a closer-to-the-mark 12.25 (12.28).

NHRA JR. DRAG RACING WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS BRINGS THE BEST YOUNG DRAG RACERS TO TULSA RACEWAY PARK

TULSA, OK – Osage Tulsa Raceway Park will host the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals event presented by Huddleston Performance June 14-16.  NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League racers from across the United States, ages 6 to 17 years, will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the event purse.

Teams of drivers in eight age categories drive half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower engines that may reach speeds up to 85 mph.  They can cover the eighth-mile track in as quick as 7.90 seconds.  Also in competition is the Jr. Comp class for racers 16 years and older, which run as fast as 110 mph in 6.90 seconds.
