Chilly Willys Sponsors Qualifying for $50K-to-Win Elite 16 Pro Mod Event
TULSA, OK – Just qualifying for the inaugural $50,000-to-win Elite 16 event presented by Elite Motorsports and the 
Tulsa-based Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) is already guaranteed to be one very cool accomplishment. Thanks to Chilly Willys Engine Coolers, each of the 16 quickest Pro Mods at the famous Texas Motorplex Nov. 1-3, will be known as a Chilly Willys Qualifier. Additionally, Jim Phillips Collision Center of Evansville, Il., will be paying a bonus to the number-one starter.
“When Keith (Haney, Elite 16 organizer and promoter) came to me with the idea, I was all for it right from the start. I like to support guys who give back to the sport, who know what it takes to run these cars, and Keith is definitely someone who knows all about that,” Chilly Willys owner Brian Shaw said. “He’s paying a good purse, which is few and far between in Pro Mod racing, and I really appreciate that. So I’m glad to help out.”
Based in Moseley, Va., Chilly Willys builds a compact engine cooling unit that manufactures and recirculates its own cold water, to as low as 39 degrees Fahrenheit without any need for ice. It requires only water and a 110-volt power source to work between rounds, with a digital L.E.D. display making it easy to preset a desired water temperature. A single Chilly Willys unit works quickly enough to individually cool even a multi-car team between rounds.
MWPMS Texas Bound with 2018 Season Titles Still in Play
TULSA, OK – The Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) is heading to the all-new 
Xtreme Raceway Park in Trumbull, Tx. Sep. 7-8, for the penultimate event of its 2018 season.
“This is the second-last race in our official season and two races before the special $50,000-to-win Pro Mod race in November at the Texas Motorplex,” MWPMS owner, promoter and competitor Keith Haney said. “So all of our the points championships are still up for grabs and we’ve got a lot of newcomers showing up to run and size up the Mid-West Series competition before the big $50K race, the biggest, richest, eighth-mile Pro Mod race in the world.”
Currently, a pair of nitrous-boosted Camaros sit atop the MWPMS Pro Mod points list, with Ron Muenks, a winner at St. Louis in May, holding onto first place in his ‘69 version of Chevy’s classic pony car. Jim Sackuvich is yet to win this year with his 2014 Camaro, but runner-up finishes in four of the six MWPMS events held so far have him just seven points back in second place. Third belongs to Jonas Aleshire, another 17 points behind with his supercharged ’06 Corvette, while Aaron Wells and Todd Martin round out the top five, each with a realistic shot at the Pro Mod season title based on strong performances in the final two events.
MWPMS Returning to Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion with Increased Purse
BELLS, TN – After the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) made an extremely 
successful debut this April at the Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion (OSCR), Speed Promotions, LLC has confirmed the Tulsa-based series will return for the sixth running of the event Apr. 10-13, 2019, at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky.
After welcoming 34 MWPMS cars this year, Speed Promotions co-owner Tyler Crossnoe and the entire Outlaw Street Car Reunion team are proud to announce a $15,000-to-win payday for the MWPMS champion of the 2019 OSCR event, representing the largest MWPMS points race payout announced to date and $5,000 more than the series’ usual winner’s payout.
“After the debut of Pro Mod at the 2018 Outlaw Street Car Reunion, we are extremely excited to welcome back the Mid-West Pro Mod Series for the 2019 campaign. We as a team sat down and decided to put a special purse together for the MWPMS return to the Holley EFI Outlaw Street Car Reunion, and that’s where the winner will now be enticed with $15,000 to win,” Crossnoe said.
Haney Unfazed by Setbacks at St. Louis MWPMS Event
TULSA, OK – The trouble started not long after Keith Haney’s team hauler headed out of Tulsa bound for St. Louis 
and the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) event at Gateway Motorsports Park. Rolling northeast on I-44, approaching the halfway point of their 400-mile trip, a tire suddenly let go on the trailer, forcing an emergency stop at the next available exit in tiny Mount Vernon, Missouri.
“We got so damn lucky, we get off the exit and boom, there’s a tire place right there,” recalled Haney, a veteran MWPMS racer, as well as owner and promoter of the series. “It would have taken us probably two or three hours to change that tire ourselves, but we go in, they tell us where to park, jack it up, change the tire, and in less than 30 minutes we’re back in business.
“So I ask, ‘How much do I owe you?’ and they answer with, ‘Nothing, you owe us nothing.’ It turns out the guys there follow me on Facebook and the manager’s friend races at Tulsa Raceway Park, the track I own with Todd Martin, so I’m just stunned,” Haney admitted. “It ended up we paid them with swag. We gave everyone in the place Keith Haney Racing hats. So, Southwest Fleet Service in Mount Vernon, thank you! And anyone ever in the area needing tire service, I can’t recommend them enough; they did a great job, too.”
Maddux Wins ‘History Making’ MWPMS Event at St. Louis
TULSA, OK – Rising from a 12th-place start in the largest and quickest field in Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-
West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) history, Kevin Maddux scored his first series win Aug. 5, during the 5th annual PSCA Street Car Super Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park, near St. Louis. Also celebrating victories with the all-eighth-mile drag racing series were Marty Stinnett in Radial vs. the World (RvW), Alan Felts in the X275 drag radial class.
“This particular race was something outstanding, special, a history-making event,” MWPMS owner and promoter Keith Haney declared. “We had the biggest Pro Mod field in our history, the quickest field ever, it gave us our sixth different Pro Mod winner in six races so far this year, and I can’t even count how many of our racers made career-best runs—even a lot who didn’t qualify—they still left St. Louis with big smiles on their faces. And that’s what this is really all about, letting these guys shine in a series that gives everyone a chance to compete.”
A record 37 of 38 entries on the grounds made qualifying attempts, with Jason Hamstra and his screw-blown ’69 Camaro leading the way for the third-straight race with a MWPMS record-setting 3.70-seconds pass at 206.23 mph. Just two-thousandths of a second behind was Brandon Pesz, with Jonas Aleshire a close third. Maddux clocked in with a then-career-best 3.76, and the 16th-and-final starting position was secured by Duane Rister at 3.78 seconds, marking the quickest bump spot for a 16-car combined Pro Mod field in eighth-mile history.
MWPMS Ready to Rock St. Louis for Second Time this Season
TULSA, OK – With just three events left on its 2018 schedule, the all-eighth-mile Frankenstein Engine Dynamics 
Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) is returning to Gateway Motorsports Park this weekend (Aug. 2-4), as part of promoter Mel Roth’s fifth annual Street Car Super Nationals. The MWPMS previously visited the track near St. Louis in May to close out the first half of its eight-race season.
“Unfortunately, last-minute business demands prevented me from attending our first race in St. Louis this year, but I’m looking forward to kicking some butt this time around,” MWPMS owner, promoter and competitor Keith Haney said. “I just announced that I’m selling both of my race cars, though, so I’ll only be racing ‘Notorious’ in Pro Mod with the Mid-West series the rest of this year. The Radial vs. the World car, ‘Enigma,’ is going to wait at home, so those guys can breathe a sigh of relief.”
Haney also recently announced an unprecedented $50,000-to-win Pro Mod race scheduled for Nov. 1-3, at the Texas Motorplex, near Dallas, which offers a sizable entry fee discount to any racer who enters at least four official MWPMS events this year. With only three opportunities left to reach that discount, Haney expects up to 30 entries will compete for a spot in the 16-car Pro Mod field at Gateway.

Haney Unfazed by Breakage at MWPMS Event in Topeka
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney enjoyed a good, solid start to his race weekend June 29-30 at Heartland Motorsports 
Park in Topeka, KS, but a few broken bolts on race day cost him a likely final-round appearance and possible win in the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) event.
After 20 cars completed four rounds of qualifying, Haney and “Notorious,” his nitrous-boosted 2014 Camaro, placed fifth overall with a 3.89-seconds pass at 193.13 mph.
“That was the quickest run of all the nitrous entries on the grounds, so we were pretty proud of that,” said Haney, who also owns and promotes the all-eighth-mile MWPMS. “Brandon Switzer couldn’t be there in person but he made some great tuning calls over the phone from Virginia and my co-crew chief, Brandon Pesz, he handled everything at the track in addition to racing his own car to the semi finals.”
Haney opened eliminations with a 3.98 to 4.19 win over Chad Javers and his supercharged ’67 Mustang, and then made a 4.43 solo pass in the quarter finals after Tommy Cunningham was unable to make the call to stage with another blown ’67 Mustang. Unfortunately, Haney’s off-the-pace pass reflected his own mechanical woes as several bolts sheared off between the flywheel and torque converter.
Hamstra Beats the Heat in Topeka for First MWPMS Win
TULSA, OK – On an oppressively hot weekend at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, KS, past Pro Mod world 
champion Jason Hamstra beat all comers June 30, to earn his first victory with the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS).
“We haven’t had a lot of racing luck this year, and it was so hot, the track was very hot and it really wasn’t like the normal prep we’re used to,” said Hamstra, who started his supercharged ’69 Camaro from second-place in the 16-car qualified field. “Conditions were definitely challenging, so it was good to finally have it all come together.”
After 20 entries completed four rounds of qualifying, Jonas Aleshire and his blown ’06 Corvette entered eliminations from the top spot thanks to a 3.82-seconds blast at 198.58 mph in the first session. Despite making a pass only in the opening round of qualifying, Hamstra’s 3.83 at a class-leading 205.69 mph held up for second overall, followed by Brandon Pesz, Eddie Rogers and MWPMS owner and promoter Keith Haney with the first of the nitrous entries at 3.89 seconds and 193.13 mph.
Haney Heading to MWPMS Event for Topeka Birthday Bash
TULSA, OK – Keith Haney last visited Heartland Motorsports Park in May for his NHRA Pro Mod debut in the 
Summit Racing Equipment Camaro.
This weekend (June 29-30), he’ll be back at the Topeka, KS-based drag strip in a more familiar role as owner, promoter, and competitor with the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS), which will be participating in Heartland Motorsports Park’s 30th anniversary celebration. The two-day event also will feature diesel drags, bracket racing and a big, trackside fireworks show on Saturday night.
“You know, I was thrilled with my return to quarter-mile racing with the NHRA last month at Heartland Park, but now my sights are set firmly on tearing up the eighth mile there and winning the Mid-West Pro Mod Series race,” said Haney, who did not participate in the two most recent MWPMS events.
“For the race last month in Tulsa I loaned out my Pro Mod car to my good friend Jim Sackuvich after he had a very unfortunate accident during testing there. Then early this month some last-minute business obligations popped up and I had to miss our race in St. Louis, too, which really killed me because I love that track. But that little break also gave me a good outlook on rules committees and other things to make the Mid-West Pro Mod Series a little bit better organization wise.”
