Stroud Safety Proudly Returns to the Mid-West Pro Mod Series in 2019
TULSA, OK – The Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) is happy to welcome back Stroud 
Safety for the 2019 season. Just this past weekend, Stroud Safety headed to the Texas Motorplex to set up a pro shop offering safety products on site to better serve their racers located in the fueling/tech check area. The Mid-West Pro Mod Series opens the season at the famed Dallas racetrack next weekend, March 8-9, 2019.
“Stroud Safety has the same core values as the MWPMS, designed by racers, for racers. Nothing in drag racing is more important than safety. I believe in Stroud and have their equipment on both of my race cars”, states MWPMS founder Keith Haney.
Founded 30 years ago, Bob Stroud took his knowledge of parachutes and safety equipment to the racing industry. Since that time, Stroud Safety has been the technology leader in the safety industry, introducing and acquiring patents on many new items. These efforts by Stroud have made racing much safer for the driver, car, track and spectator.
Atomizer Racing Injectors Returns as a Top-Level Sponsor of the Mid-West Pro Mod Series

Racing Injectors for the 2019 season. Based in Toano, Virginia, Atomizer was founded 10 years ago by Jack French under the premise of “Engineered and manufactured by racers for racers” and are proudly Made in the USA.

Menscer Motorsports will be back on board for the 2019 season. Menscer Motorsports is an industry leader in race car and street car suspension.

Menscer Motorsports is located in Hope Mills, North Carolina. They have been on the forefront to performance shock absorbers in the small tire world for quite some time. Menscer Motorsports has also been racking up race wins, record times, and World Championships that would be the envy of any manufacture.
Strange Engineering Returns to the Mid-West Pro Mod Series in 2019
TULSA, OK – The Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) welcomes Strange Engineering 
back for the 2019 season. This will be their third season with MWPMS, as they have been a supporter of MWPMS since its inception. Strange Engineering has been a household name in drag racing since 1964 and is an important component vital to many racers throughout all levels in drag racing.

‘Labor of Love’ for MWPMS Videographer Jimmy Biggs
TULSA, OK – According to official videographer Jimmy Biggs, he has the best job on the grounds during each event 
for the Tulsa-based Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS).
“It’s a labor of love; it really is,” Biggs insists. “I consider it a privilege and an honor to tell the stories of the race teams and sponsors that make the Mid-West Pro Mod Series happen. And everybody has a cool story. With this whole industry it’s like that because everybody comes from different backgrounds and has different experiences. Plus, everyone knows 99.5-percent of all drag racers are great guys and my experience with the Mid-West Series absolutely confirms that.”
For the better part of two decades, Biggs, 62, has concentrated on providing drag racing coverage, working with the NMCA, Fun Ford, ADRL and PDRA before MWPMS owner, promoter and competitor Keith Haney came calling. Biggs estimates he posted between 150 and 200 MWPMS video clips to the MWPMS Facebook page this year.
“I can’t tell you how many drivers and crew guys come to me the next day to say they never expected to see things get posted so fast. They’re more used to seeing video from events go up a week or two, maybe more, after an event, but coming from a TV news background I work fast. I know how to shoot and edit for speed,” he says.
Career-Best Numbers Highlight Haney’s Elite 16 Experience
TULSA, OK – Randy Merick picked up the trophy and a $50,000 check for winning the inaugural Elite 16 event 
presented by Elite Motorsports and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS), but MWPMS owner and Elite 16 promoter Keith Haney left the Texas Motorplex early this month feeling every bit as fulfilled and satisfied.
“The Elite 16 achieved exactly what we were hoping for in bringing together some of the absolute best Pro Mod racers from many different backgrounds and sanctioning bodies and putting them head-to-head on one of the fastest tracks in the country,” stated Haney, who also participated in the Elite 16 with “Notorious,” his nitrous-boosted 2014 Camaro Pro Mod.
Run before a limited-admission crowd of just 1,000 spectators, the $50K-to-win Elite 16 attracted 30 Pro Modified entries attempting to qualify for the 16-car field. After a practically unprecedented eight rounds of qualifying were in the books, MWPMS regular Brandon Pesz sat atop the Elite list with a 3.61-seconds pass at 208.75 mph over the Motorplex eighth mile, closely followed by Jonas Aleshire, Jason Hamstra, and eventual Elite 16 victor Randy Merick. A special second-chance race for Elite 16 non-qualifiers also paid out $10,000 to winner Ron Muenks.
Aleshire Aces MWPMS Finals and Wins Pro Mod World Championship
TULSA, OK – With a brilliant come-from-behind drive, Jonas Aleshire scored his second Frankenstein Engine 
Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) win of the year Nov. 2, while simultaneously wrapping up the MWPMS championship at the series’ 2018 World Finals in Ennis, TX.
“We just did what we had to do and kept going rounds and ended up with the championship win and ultimately won the race while doing so, which was a real big bonus,” Aleshire said. “It’s a really big deal for us, especially after finishing second last year. I really can’t thank everyone on our team enough for making this a reality.”
Before being pressed into service for the 2016 racing season, Aleshire’s bright blue Z06 Corvette spent nearly a decade in a customer’s showroom after being built by Chris Duncan Race Cars (CDRC) in 2006 at Chandlerville, IL. The car carries a 526 c.i. Brad Anderson Hemi prepared by Adam Flamholc at HRE (Hameetman Racing Engines) in Cape Coral, FL, and a CDRC-built Lenco CS2 transmission outfitted with a Neal Chance torque converter.
Heading into the MWPMS World Finals (postponed to the Texas Motorplex after being rained out a few weeks earlier in Tulsa, OK), Aleshire trailed Jim Sackuvich and Ron Muenks atop the Pro Mod points list, with fourth-place Aaron Wells also mathematically in contention for the series title. However, when Sackuvich’s 2017 Camaro lost ignition at the end of its burnout and the ’68 Camaro of Muenks fell to Rickie Smith in round one of racing, the door swung wide open for Aleshire and his screw-blown ’06 Corvette to step through.
Merick Makes History with $50K Payday at Inaugural Elite 16
ENNIS, TX — The biggest single-event paycheck in eighth-mile Pro Mod racing history was made out to Randy 
Merick Nov. 3, after the Missouri-based driver outlasted a star-studded field in the inaugural Elite 16 event presented by Elite Motorsports and the Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS).
Merick qualified his supercharged, Larry Jeffers-built ’79 Corvette fourth before making it past three-time NHRA Pro Mod champ Rickie Smith, former ADRL Pro Extreme champion Frankie Taylor and NHRA Pro Mod winner Joe Baker. He then outran former U.S. Nationals winner Eric Dillard in the $50,000-to-win final at the famed Texas Motorplex, near Dallas.
“There were no easy ones, that’s for sure, but I felt pretty good about my car going into this, even though it was just the fifth race on it since we brought it out in May. I just really felt like we had a good chance of winning,” Merick said. “And this was the right one to win.

If a racer has competed in three or more MWPMS events in 2018, their entry will be $1500. For all the guys (and gals) wanting to be a part of this HUGE payday and have competed in three or fewer MWPMS events or none at all, the entry is $2000. This means that the ELITE 16 is truly an event for everyone.”
