SAN DIMAS, CA – NHRA welcomes Pep Boys and Mac Tools to the team of partners of the NHRA Youth and Education Services (YES) Program.

The NHRA YES Program is the only full-time education program in motorsports providing quality educational content and activities for schools and youth organizations nationwide. The YES Program invites students to NHRA national events to see first-hand the career opportunities within the motorsports field.

Pep Boys, one of the nation’s leading automotive service networks, is also now the official auto service partner of NHRA. With locations across the country, Pep Boys employs thousands of technicians, many of whom are ASE-certified. Pep Boys’ Race to 2026 initiative is part of the Company’s commitment to helping to close the nation’s skills gap through partnerships with technical schools, apprenticeships and ongoing training and development.

World champ Capps wins fourth straight with Tobler, NAPA Dodge, combines with Matco’s Brown to sweep Topeka nitro titles for DSR

TOPEKA, KS – The Funny Car final round Sunday in the NHRA Heartland Nationals was going to be “déjà vu all over again” for Don Schumacher Racing’s Ron Capps or Matt Hagan.

Hagan was trying to replicate what he did a year ago at Topeka, Kan., when he set both NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series world records and concluded his visit to Heartland Park by winning the Wally Trophy.

Instead, Capps and the NAPA AUTO PARTS 2017 Dodge Charger R/T Powered by Pennzoil won their fourth consecutive event title to ruin his teammate’s perfect weekend.

And DSR teammate Antron Brown with the Matco Tools Top Fuel dragster team kept Steve Torrence from reliving his recent winning history when the three-time world champion defeated Torrence, who arrived at Topeka riding a two-race winning streak.

BROWN TAKES TOYOTA TO WINNER’S CIRCLE IN TOPEKA NHRA

TOPEKA, KS – Antron Brown defeated Steve Torrence in the Top Fuel final to win the Menards NHRA Heartland Park Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka Sunday. The victory is the second of the season for Brown and the 63rd of his Mello Yello Series career.

After qualifying third, the long-time Toyota driver defeated Kebin Kinsley in the opening round, fellow Toyota driver Shawn Langdon in round two and Leah Pritchett in the semi-finals to set up his match-up with Torrence. For the weekend, Brown ran 3.71 or better in five of his seven runs, including three 3.6-second passes. His opening round 3.691 was the best run of race day.
