Armor Coat Ceramic Header Coating to Sponsor PDRA TD Low Qualifier Award at Virginia

PITTSBORO, NC – Armor Coat, backed by parent company Aesthetic Finishers, is providing an extra incentive to PDRA - Top DragsterPDRA Top Dragster racers at the Brian Olson Memorial World Finals presented by Mel Bush Motorsports. The low qualifier in Top Dragster (TD) will receive an extra $300 thanks to Armor Coat. This will be no easy feat for TD competitors, as the competition level continues to increase and fields are the quickest in the history of the class.

“As racers ourselves, we understand the importance of receiving individual service,” explained Aesthetic Finishers Inc. President, Bill Coomer. “From our large accounts to our engine builders, hot rodders and racers, we want folks to be aware that we are always looking for ways to make things more convenient for them. The bottom line is that we take pride in making sure our customer service is as personal as possible.

“Armor Coat is an aluminum ceramic formulation that was developed by NASA to protect parts from thermal destruction and we’ve taken that same technology and brought it into the motorsports world,” he continued. “So with Armor Coat, you’re not only getting a very aesthetic looking part, but also a part that is not going to break down from the inside out due to the corrosive characteristics of the exhaust gases. You will also benefit from the thermal properties of the ceramic coating.”

The chrome finish Armor Coat will withstand up to 1,350 degrees, while the black finish boasts a tolerance all the way up to 2,000 degrees.

“Armor Coat and Aesthetic Finishers do small and huge runs of powder coating for companies all over the world,” informed Kathy Fisher, Performance by Fisher driver of the Armor Coat Top Dragster. “We’ve been using them for years for all of our powder coating and, of course, with Amor Coat. We are very proud to run the Armor Coat Top Dragster and to help introduce them to the upper echelon of the PDRA.

“This product not only works great on race cars of all types, but also your hot rods and show cars. Not only does the near chrome, cast gray, flat black, or black finish look terrific, Armor Coat has exceptional corrosion and chip resistance,” added Fisher. “We even Armor Coat our wheelie bar. We use it in a lot of places instead of chrome because it just looks that good and it’s a lot cheaper than doing chrome. If you’re interested and want to know what Armor Coat is all about stop by and visit us at the World Finals.”

Several other race teams and companies, such as Mcilvain Race Cars, have also chosen the performance of Amor Coat for their personal and professional applications. Armor Coat is an excellent alternative to polishing as the near chrome finish will not turn color over time or even after years of heat cycles. With a tightly controlled application process that has been refined over the decades, Armor Coat customers note the coating is the brightest, most durable ceramic coating that they have ever used and coated items still look remarkable after years of use.
