Hinbest Racing Releases New Racing Video

ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO (December 22, 2009) – Hinbest Racing, www.HinbestRacing.com, one of the teams that competed in the new Quick 32 Sportsman Series, has released a video to explain not only what the sport entails, but what the Hinbest team brought to the series.

“Our team message is an important one, we were trying to find a way to show people who knew nothing about drag racing what we do and who we are”, said team driver Michael Hinbest. “The result was having a team video produced, and the Hinbest Racing camp was busy racing and filming the last race weekend at Cayuga September 19-20.”

The new video can be found at the team website: http://hinbestracing.com/media.html

The video was produced by Brent Frazer from Bfraz Productions; he can be contacted at brentwfraser@gmail.com

It’s been only four years since Hinbest started drag racing and 2009 was his first year in this car, a supercharged-powered Top Dragster. The team was able to place seventh in the NAPA sponsored Quick 32 Sportsman Series Championship Point Award Series for the inaugural year of the new drag race series.

The Hinbest Racing Team had its test run with a blower car and stiff competition in 2009. The team credits most of its success to the expertise and tuning capability of Carl Spiering, owner of Engine Research and Development (ERD), and fellow Quick 32 Sportsman Series competitor.

“We would still be trying to get the tune up right, not wining rounds,” mentioned team Crew Chief Roy Hinbest. “Carl provided us with not only a motor and tuning expertise but the service of taking car of all our team needs. If we had a problem we called him and he had an answer.”

The racing may be over for 2009 but that doesn’t mean the work stops. Over the last few months Hinbest Racing has been busy with charity work.  During the 2009 season, Roy Hinbest won the inaugural golf cart race for Quick 32 Sportsman Series teams, and the winnings were graciously donated to the Team JAXS cancer fund.  After the season the team attended The Maples Elementary School for their 25th anniversary, handing out Frisbees and balloons to the kids, and were also present at Georgian College for the Canadian Automotive Institute’s yearly student ran auto show, which is North America’s largest outdoor auto show.

“We enjoy giving back, every were we go people love to see the race car and being up close, as they do not see one on a typical day, said Hinbest.”

Hinbest Racing’s NAPA Auto Parts Top Dragster qualified well in the six-race series, including the number one spot in three races, at the Grand Bend Motorplex June 27 and Cayuga September 19-20.

Hinbest also qualified number two during May 16 at Cayuga, and at the Grand Bend Motorplex August 15, and again during the Labor Day meet at Grand Bend.

The ERD powerplant-powered the Mike Bos Top Dragster into the number one spot at five race events during the 2009 season.

Hinbest’s best finish in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series was a runner-up during the season-ending Cayuga race. The team’s best lap with the car was a 6.33-second, 220.10-mph pass. This speed set the Quick 32 Sportsman Series speed record and is now the benchmark for the other teams to beat for the new Marydel Homes Qualifying Bonus.

“We finished the season in seventh and only one round win from being in the top five,” said Hinbest. “We will definitely be back in 2010.”

Major sponsorship for the team is courtesy of NAPA Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Pro, NAPA Brake and Chassis, Ideal Supply, and The Tire Discounter Group. Associate sponsors included Quaker State, Port-A-Cool, Fast Eddie Race Wear, Roy’s Service Centre, RSC Automotive.com, and Fireball Coatings.

“NAPA is a great supporter to the sport of drag racing,” mentioned Hinbest, “and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, www.Quick32.cawill have an awesome future.”

The 2010 season brings exciting new initiatives from the Hinbest Racing Team.

“I can’t say much as of yet, but a unique opportunity is in the works and an announcement should be released early 2010.”
