LAGUNA BEACH, CA – Performance and racing engine builders looking to tune up their knowledge of electronic fuel injection in racing applications will make plans to arrive early in Orlando the week of the PRI Trade Show for a special course taught by EFI University.

Presented by FAST (Fuel Air Spark Technology), the one-day course is limited to classroom-sized seating, and focuses mainly on discussions dealing with properly setting up an ECU using the latest software. Components and software used for this class will supplied by FAST, but the topics and strategies covered can be applied to any EFI setup.

There is a fee for the course. It will be held 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in a meeting room inside the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando. The Performance Racing Industry Trade Show opens the doors to the exhibit aisles, featuring displays by 1100 racing companies, the next day, Thursday, December 1, in the Orange County Convention Center.

“EFI University does a terrific job, and we’re excited to have them back as part of Race Industry Week with this seminar organized by FAST,” said John Kilroy, editor of PRI magazine. “One visit to Orlando this year will pay off in many, many ways for race engine builders throughout the US. It’s going to be a jam-packed, ‘can’t miss’ kind of week.”

“FAST is excited to once again participate in this unique educational seminar. Electronic Fuel Injection is a ‘hot topic’ in all forms of motorsports and this course will cover the foundational knowledge that can be applied to any race vehicle or performance application. Last year’s course was a great success and based on the attendee feedback, they walked away with a wealth of knowledge and relationships with fellow attendees and the instructors that have proven to be invaluable.” said David Page, FAST technical and sales representative.

EFI University, based in Temecula, California, is the first school of its kind, designed specifically to teach the principles and skills required to successfully navigate your way through the fast paced world of high performance electronic fuel injection.

It is the brainchild of Ben Strader, a professional EFI system builder and tuner with a passion for sharing his knowledge with others. After years of traveling and tuning systems all over the country, Ben realized that there is still a large void of information in the performance industry about the how’s and why’s of EFI operation. It was this realization that caused him to search for available trustworthy information that he could share with others. After many hours of disappointing and frustrating investigation, Ben realized that there was only one good way to get the information out there…thus, EFI University was born.

While this class utilizes the FAST XFI 2.0 ECU, most menus and calibrations will also apply to the Classic FAST ECU as well.

This class begins with a general overview of the basic functions and theory involved in controlling an engine using FAST electronic fuel injection.

An In depth discussions about each sensor and actuator used, and their functions are held throughout the session with emphasis on interaction between students and instructors to ensure that everyone understands each concept before progressing to the next.

Special emphasis is placed on properly tuning & setting up calibrations for each table and sensor used in your FAST system.

Each student will receive a 100-plus-page textbook to keep for reference when they leave, as well as a certificate of completion of the course to display in their shop at home. In addition to the above, each student will get a gift bag, plus FAST will be giving away door prizes.

The 24th Annual PRI Trade Show features the latest product lines of 1,100 manufacturers of racing and high-performance automotive components, as well as precision machining equipment. It will be attended by approximately 40,000 racing business people from all over the United States, and from 65 countries. It will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 1-3, 2011, in the North/South Building of the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando.

Thousands of racing entrepreneurs arrive early for Race Industry Week, featuring such important additional events as the Advanced Engineering Technology Conference (AETC), the International Council of Motorsport Sciences, the Professional Motorsport Circuit Forum North America, the Stock Car Setup Seminar and the Industry Roundtable.
