Championships on the Line at the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals Featuring Nitro Jam at Memphis International Raceway

NORWALK, OH – The 2015 International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) season has been nothing less than exciting IHRA Pro Stockthis year as sportsman and professional racers around the globe have competed for an opportunity to race in the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals featuring Nitro Jam at Memphis International Raceway on October 9 – 10.

The World Finals is a two-day, nonstop drag racing extravaganza with professional racing running in conjunction with the top sportsman racers. Four professional Nitro Jam class champions will be determined as well as seven sportsman class champions during the Summit Racing Equipment Tournament of Champions (TOC) and three sportsman bracket champions during the Summit SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL. The best drivers in more than a dozen professional and sportsman classes head to Memphis for the final race of the 2015 season in hopes of taking home the title of IHRA World Champion.

“Racing across all of IHRA’s series’ has experienced a lot of growth in 2015 and the racing has been incredible,” stated IHRA President Scott Gardner. “Racers work hard all year to make it to the World Finals in Memphis. It’s where the best-of-the-best in sportsman and professional classes go up against each other one last time to prove who the top racer is.”

The TOC features the top-three racers in their respective Summit Pro-Am Tour divisions competing against each other for the opportunity to claim the world championship. The classes include: Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Super Stock, Stock, Quick Rod, Super Rod and Hot Rod.

The Summit Racing Equipment SuperSeries presented by AMSOIL consists of the best grassroots racers across the country. Drivers have been collecting points at their local tracks all season for an opportunity to compete in the World Finals. Each track champion from a participating IHRA track attend their regional Summit Team Finals to compete against each other in hopes of advancing to the finale. Top ET, Mod ET and Junior Dragster classes are made up of 16 participants from various divisions, including Western Canada and Newfoundland.

The Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series headlines the World Finals at Memphis International Raceway. Professional racers from around the world have competed across the U.S. and Canada throughout the season in hopes of securing the title of IHRA World Champion. The series consists of five classes: AMSOIL Nitro Funny Car presented by Aeromotive, Pro Stock, Crower Pro Mod, Nitro Harley and Jet Dragster. 2014 IHRA Jet Dragster World Champion Elaine Larsen defended her title at the San Antonio Nationals Fueled by Sunoco, leaving four classes to compete for the coveted title at Memphis.
