Racing For Every Taste at Fun Ford

Competitive portion of Throttle Fest Memphis will bring the horses

MILLINGTON, TN – At this weekend’s Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series with FocusFest at Fun Ford - MemphisMemphis International Raceway, fans of Ford Racing have much to be excited about on August 28-29.

Mustangs will have their own trophy class at this weekend’s Throttle Fest Memphis powered by Fun Ford Series with FocusFest.  Saturday’s racing portion of the program has five different classes to choose from and driver’s may enter multiple classes.

“This is a golden opportunity for our Ford racers to come out and have a little fun,” said MIR VP and GM Pam Kendrick. “There’s a class for every level of racer out there. It’s going to be a great way for a Ford enthusiast to spend the afternoon.”

First, there are three classes geared toward serious racers. The Fast Ford Challenge is for cars that use electronics in their engines, similar to MIR’s Rick’s Powder Coating Super Pro bracket class. The Quick Ford Challenge is for cars that don’t use electronics, those fall into the track’s B&B Towing Footbrake class. Finally there’s the Street Ford class which is open you street legal cars and DOT tires, similar to the RT Turbines DOT Street class.

Secondly are two trophy classes geared toward specific Ford fans. The Tuff Truck is for street legal Ford trucks and of course what Ford-fueled drag race would be complete without a class for Mustangs.

“There something for every taste,” Kendrick said. “And cars entered in the Crutcher Insurance Group of Collierville Car Show are eligible and encouraged to race if they want.”

The racing just one part of an event packed festival that celebrates horsepower in all its forms including the Full Throttle Saloon, music from great local bands, autocross, drifting, motorcycle stunt demonstrations and the rock of Cinderella’s Tom Keifer headlining Friday night and Jackyl taking the stage on Saturday night.
