MILLION DOLLAR RACE DRAG RACE

Just like they have for the past 18 years, over 400 racers will be flocking to Montgomery Motorsports Park in Montgomery, Alabama this week with one thought in mind: Score some big money at the C.A.R.S. Protection Plus Million Dollar Race beginning this Thursday, October 23rd.

Nowhere in drag racing; regardless of the class of competition; is there an event which pays more to the winner than the Million Dollar race. At last year’s Million, Kenny Underwood drove his Camaro to the win adding his name to an illustrious list of Million Dollar Race winners. The actual winner’s share is based on car count but the balance of the purse is guaranteed with the runner-up still receiving $50,000, amounts which have most definitely made a difference in the lives of everyone involved.

The event schedule begins on Thursday with the first of the Triple 20s, which also take place on Friday and the last day of the event, Sunday. Each of those races pays $20,000 to the winner with the entire purse 100% guaranteed. Saturday is reserved for the main event, the famed Million Dollar Race.

In addition to the purse, over $40,000 in prizes is randomly awarded over the weekend in Best Loser awards and random tech card drawings. A Saturday night Racer Appreciation Party sponsored by Lucas Oil will also feed all attendees.

And for the third year in a row, anyone can take part in the Million affair by signing up for the VIP Club right up to the first day of the race. With a $35 sign-up, you receive a T-shirt and are placed in the running for a brand new dragster chassis. In addition, for each round of every race at the C.A.R.S. Protection Plus Million, a name will be pulled from the ranks of the VIP club and awarded gift certificates from the various sponsors.
