FOR 9TH TIME IN 2014 BRANDSOURCE GIVES FAN TV AS COURTNEY FORCE IS VICTORIOUS IN SONOMA

SONOMA, CA – Courtney Force qualified No. 1 at the 27th annual NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway and for the third Brand Sourcetime in her career she won from the top spot to once again give a lucky fan a TV from BrandSource and the Win with Force promotion. The youngest Force also became the winningest female Funny Car driver picking up her fifth career win passing sister Ashley Force Hood (4 Funny Car wins) in the record books. Courtney, the 2012 NHRA Auto Club Rookie of the Year, outran her teammate and father 4.253 seconds to 4.405 seconds in the 44th all JFR final round.

“I think about way too many things when I’m against dad. Normally I’m calm and collected and I think whatever is going to happen will happen, but I was so wanting this win that I was thinking don’t screw up on the light, don’t red light, don’t pull in too deep. I wanted to pull in deep, but I didn’t want to light the red light and just ruin it for my team. I was nervous. I just didn’t want to screw up and it was just one of those deals where I just wanted to go and get this car straight down the track and do my job as a driver. I knew everyone would be looking at me so I just didn’t want to screw it up for us,” said Force, a two-time winner in 2014.

“I think our entire team is definitely gelling better. Every year I’ve had the same crew chief since the start of my rookie season and the great thing about John Force Racing is we all stick together as a team and we’re not over here trying to move our guys around left and right. I like to keep my same routine. It makes me comfortable and I think it makes everybody else comfortable. I think it helps us to do better all in all. Year after year I’m getting more comfortable in the seat, trying harder, working on my lights, leaving better and I actually put a lot more pressure on myself now in my third season because now I’m looking at, well, maybe we do have a championship car,” added Courtney Force.

With the all JFR final round BrandSource Win with Force contestant Karen Garatti of Novato, Calif., was guaranteed a 55” flat screen TV. On Sunday Force defeated Peter Russo, Bob Tasca III, and Matt Hagan before she met up with John Force in the final. This win was the 234th Funny Car win for John Force Racing. At each NHRA national event when a JFR team qualifies No. 1 a lucky fan that has signed up at the JFR “Win with Force” display located in Nitro Alley will be eligible to win the BrandSource No. 1 Qualifier Award, a front loading washer and dryer set. If a JFR driver wins the event a different fan will win the 55” flat screen TV Winner’s Circle Award from BrandSource.

At the end of the season a grand prize winner of the “Win with Force” Sweepstakes will be awarded a 2014 Ford Escape S-Series. Thanks to a winning season by John Force Racing in 2013, BrandSource gave away eight flat-screen televisions and nine washers & dryers to lucky fans. More than 24,000 race fans registered to win prizes at the “Win with Force” display in NHRA’s Nitro Alley. Another 91,000 fans signed up online at BrandSource.com. Fans can sign up to win at the John Force Racing interactive midway display. This 53-foot trailer will be in the Nitro Alley area of every NHRA Mello Yello Series national event in 2014. The “Win with Force” promotion now includes JFR team partners Castrol, BrandSource, Ford, Traxxas and Mac Tools, all joining together to create an incredible promotion for the fans.
