Team Aruba is ready for last quarter of 2020

MADISON, IL – This year has devastated racing capabilities unlike any other. Unfortunately for Team Aruba, it stopped them in their tracks completely. “Aside from many races cancelling, Aruba was also on a border lockdown,” driver Trevor Eman explained. “So traveling to races – even if there were races – would have been impossible.”

Fortunately, restrictions are lifting everywhere, including Aruba. The Mountain Motor Pro Stock Team is ready to get back on track. They are joining the 2020 NHRA tour at the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Pennzoil* just outside of St. Louis.

“We look forward to being back at a race,” Eman continued. “We are excited to take our Aruba Airport Authority sponsored Mustang back to competition and look forward to bringing an NHRA trophy back to Aruba.

“Life in 2020 has definitely been different. Never in my life did I ever think flights would stop coming to and leaving Aruba. But that happened. We now understand how we need to live and move forward in life around these difficult times, and we feel getting back to the track and bringing awareness of the precautions our island is taking is part of getting back on track.”

Team Aruba readies for 2020 with first test session of the season

ORLANDO, FL – Team Aruba is back stateside after enjoying the off season back home in their island paradise, the One Happy Island. They readied the Aruba.com Mustang at their shop in Union, S.C, then made the trek to Florida for a two day test session.

Team Aruba heads north looking for victory

EPPING, NH – Team Aruba is leaving nice and sunny Aruba to head to the NHRA New England Nationals. Held in New Hampshire, this race is the northernmost event for Team Aruba and quite a haul from the One Happy Island. After making the flight from Aruba to their race shop in Union, S.C. the team then makes the nearly 1000 mile drive to New Hampshire. The Eman family and crew are thrilled to be back racing with NHRA, making every second of travel time well worth it.

Their Aruba.com Mustang has been a thing of beauty both on and off the track since they debuted it last fall, so the team has high hopes for a good performance in Epping.

“We’re grateful for our hard working crew who put in dedicated hours at the track, at home and in between,” expressed team owner Ven Eman. “Hennito and Kohn Peterson will do all the highway driving to get us to the event.

Team Aruba prepares for 2019 debut at NHRA Four-Wide Nationals

Union, SC – Team owner Ven Eman and driver of the Aruba.com Mustang Trevor Eman have made their way back stateside, traveling from their home country of Aruba to their race shop base in Union, S.C. to prepare for the 2019 race season. Team Aruba is eager to build upon the monumental new foundations laid late last season when Mountain Motor Pro Stock began a relationship with the National Hot Rod Association. Eman and team debuted their new Jerry Haas-built Mustang at the Big Go with positive results, both in on-track performance and NHRA fan reception.

In January, NHRA announced a four event exhibition schedule for Mountain Motor Pro Stock. Team Aruba will compete at the NGK Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in North Carolina April 26-28.

“We are looking forward to seeing the Mountain Motor Pro Stock category more in 2019,” said NHRA vice president of competition, Ned Walliser stated in the January announcement. “These drivers are eager to run at NHRA national events and offer an exciting new showcase for fans.”

Team Aruba readies for 2019 tour, including four NHRA nationals

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Team Aruba enjoyed a historic year in 2018. They debuted a gorgeous new Jerry Haas-built 2018 Mustang, attended their first ever NHRA U.S. Nationals, went to the semi finals or finals at every race, and driver Trevor Eman welcomed his second baby girl, Maya, into the world. This varied success has laid the groundwork for a promising 2019.

Eman and the Aruba.com Mustang will once again compete on their regular Professional Drag Racers Association circuit, chasing an Extreme Pro Stock Championship. However, after the initial test run for incorporating mountain motors with the traditional 500 inch motors of NHRA Pro Stock at the U.S. Nationals, NHRA has announced mountain motors will be able to join their field of Pro Stocks at four events in 2019.

Combining the two versions of Pro Stock was a monumental move by NHRA. The organization will continue to test the waters in 2019. Team Aruba is excited to be a part of the changes.

Team Aruba finishes 2018 with strong appearance at PDRA World Finals

DINWIDDIE, VA – The PDRA World Finals is always a highly anticipated event. Championships are on the line. Weather is typically some of the best the series sees all year, leading to record breaking numbers. And this is every racer’s last chance to make an impact on the season.

Team Aruba has enjoyed a series of highs since debuting their new 2018 Aruba.com Mustang in September. Their standout performance continued for this final event of the year, despite team changes and adverse weather conditions.

The regular driver of the Aruba.com Mustang, Trevor Eman, stayed home in Aruba, awaiting the arrival of his second child. John Bartunek was tapped to fill his seat and adjusted to the car quickly, taking Team Aruba to a number 3 qualifying spot with a 4.048 effort. He then beat John Pluchino first round with an impressive 4.022 pass. At that point, the race was postponed due to unsafe conditions.

“This turned out to be a race with more competition from the weather than from our loyal competitors,” joked team owner, Ven Eman. “We had a very impressive field of Mountain Motor Pro Stocks with 17 cars, but Mother Nature was not on our side during this race. We had one day great weather, then lots and lots of rain and to top it off freezing low 30 degree weather.”

Team Aruba goes to second semi-final in a row

DARLINGTON, SC – Team Aruba traveled to the Legendary Darlington Dragway last weekend for the second to last stop on the 2018 PDRA tour. Although every event is at least one plane ride over the ocean for Team Aruba, this event could be considered their home stop on the tour, as it’s the closest to the team’s stateside base in Union, S.C. They continued their impressive stint with the new car, making their second semi-final appearance in as many races.

Driver of the Aruba.com Mustang, Trevor Eman, and his wife, Nicole, are expecting their second child soon. While Eman is home awaiting their newest addition, John Bartunek filled his seat.

“I was very impressed with the amount of people that came to me asking how Nicole and the upcoming baby were doing, both racers and fans,” expressed team owner, Ven Eman. “This goes to show the bond in the PDRA.

“Our team has done very well with this new car. Doug, Pat and John Peterson did a  tremendous job taking a brand new car to the NHRA US Nationals and then to two PDRA semi-finals. John Bartunek  did an excellent job driving the car this weekend. We’re thankful he could step up and drive for us since Trevor was unable to come to Darlington.”

New Aruba.com Mustang turning heads

UNION, SC – Team Aruba debuted their new 2018 Pro Stock Mustang with much fanfare. The Eman family and Team Aruba were included as one of the Mountain Motor Pro Stock (MMPS) teams selected to make exhibition runs at the U.S. Nationals, a test run for possibly altering the course of Pro Stock. The Big Go™ – as the event is known – carries the most emotion, prestige and history for drivers and fans alike, drawing the highest attendance, according to NHRA.com.

“We were received incredibly well by fans, other racers and officials,” stated team owner, Ven Eman. “We were able to put Aruba.com in front of thousands fans and widen the impact of Mountain Motor Pro Stock. It was a wonderful opportunity for our team, our marketing partners and our class.”
