Robertson and Eaton TA/FC Team Score First NHRA North Central Regional Championship

HARRISON TWP, MI – Todd Robertson and his Eaton Corporation team had little experience with flip-top Funny Todd RobertsonCars when they entered NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car competition in 2012. The former Outlaw Pro Mod standout admits he still has a lot to learn, but Robertson has progressed significantly in four years of competition. He kicked off the 2015 season with his first TA/FC win and went on to win the season championship in the NHRA North Central Region.

Robertson started the year with high expectations after reaching the final round at the prestigious Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in 2014. The Michigan native picked up his first-ever NHRA Wally when he drove his Eaton Monte Carlo to the winner’s circle at the season-opening Lucas Oil Series North Central regional event in Indy.

Todd Robertson Takes Runner-up Honors at NHRA U.S. Nationals

Harrison TWP, MI – Sometimes one race can make up for a less than spectacular season but, when that one race is the U.S. Nationals it takes Todd Robertson - Mike Grosso OUTLAW Photothings to a different level.

The U.S. Nationals, for a drag racer, is the equivalent to Daytona, the Super Bowl, or dare I say, Lord Stanley’s Cup. So, when Todd Robertson made his tremendous run to the final round at the 60th Anniversary NHRA U.S. Nationals this past Labor Day, it could be looked at, by some, as an impressive accomplishment equal to as if the Detroit Lions made a run to the Super Bowl. Okay, not really! For Robertson and his ProPower Team, based outside of the Detroit area, it took plenty of hard work and a lot of determination and a partial “re-inventing of the wheel or transmission in this case”.

After a first round win over long time veteran Fred Tigges, Robertson fell to one of the Kings of the Top Alcohol ranks, Frank “ACE” Manzo in round two. This year Robertson is hoping to take it a few rounds further.

“Much like last season, we took a while to get going but lately with the help of Darren Mayer at DMPE we have made some huge strides and hope to be able to benefit from what we’ve learned. We’ve also been working alongside Brandon Booher of “Torque MGMT” Brandon’s additional knowledge of converters and power application is very helpful and with the power we’ve been able to find through working with Darren I couldn’t ask for a better guy to team with. The added input could be very helpful to my Crew Chief, Dennis Kolomyjec when he makes the final call,” said Robertson.
