Enfield, CT – Al Hanna, President of Hanna Motorsports Jets today announced an agreement with NHRA and Senior Vice President-Racing Operations, Graham Light, for the appearance of the teams jet funny cars, the ‘GOJO Firebird’ and the XLERATOR ‘Top Secret’ Firebird, at four 2015 NHRA National Events. Their 4 event tour will commence at the prestigious NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, FL Mar 12-16, 2015.

The team will have both cars on display the opening day of each event and drivers Rich Hanna and Ken Hall will meet fans, explain the workings of their unique machines, and sign autographs.  “Running NHRA National Events is very prestigious, and we’re really looking forward to meeting and performing for the NHRA fans”, said Rich Hanna.  “Rich and I are both from long time NHRA racing families and running these events is a dream come true for me” said Ken Hall.

Enfield, CT – The President of Hanna Motorsports Jets, Al Hanna, today announced the post wind tunnel performance results of the Queen of Diamonds II jet dragster. The head-turning performance was the direct result of the Hanna’s day of testing at the A2 Wind Tunnel complex, located in Mooresville, North Carolina.

“Our family is dedicated to growth and success. With that said, we made the decision to invest in a full day session at the acclaimed A2 Wind Tunnel, for our ‘one-of-a-kind’ jet dragster; the new ‘Queen of Diamonds II.’ There were many issues to trouble shoot with this new design, and we wanted to test in a controlled manner. The A2 Wind Tunnel made those tests available in a safe and really exciting environment.”

Enfield, CT – On Monday, Sept 29, the Hanna Motorsports/GOJO/XLERATOR team made drag racing history by visiting and testing the revolutionary Queen of Diamonds II jet dragster in the A2 wind tunnel located in Mooresville, NC.  Never before has a jet drag racing machine been in a wind tunnel for aero testing.  It was a proud moment for the team which has actually been in the works for over 20 years!

In 1994, Al Hanna had revolutionized the jet funny car category and developed the first ever successful center drive jet f/c.  The body of the car was a Pontiac Firebird and coupled with their Auto Palace stores sponsorship, the team was also supported for several years by GM. Al had reached out to GM for aero advice for the one of a kind machine and they provided help from the likes of their top aero man at the time, Gary Eaker.  Gary flew to CT from Detroit and worked for several days on the machine making radical changes to the body which also made radical improvements to its performance immediately.  There, a friendship between Al and Gary was formed as well.

Enfield, CT – Al Hanna, President of Hanna Motorsports Jets, Enfield, CT announces the debut of the much awaited “Queen of Diamonds II” 300 MPH Jet Dragster.  The brand new and revolutionary semi-streamliner “Queen of Diamonds II” 300 MPH Jet Dragster was conceived more than 10 years ago, on a napkin in an Atlanta airport, by legend Al Hanna, of nitro and jet fame.  Since that fateful day, the concept was developed over and over again until the decision was made, in the middle of the 2012 season, to have the car built.

The rest is now history.  The Hanna’s contracted Dan Page Race Cars of Hampstead, NH to build the car.  Page has built many cars for the Hanna’s including the “Queen of Diamonds”, the current World Speed and ET Record Holding ‘GOJO Firebird’ Jet Funny Car, driven by Rich Hanna, and the ‘XLERATOR’ ‘Top Secret’ Firebird, the highest tech jet funny car ever built, driven by veteran Ken Hall.

The new “Queen of Diamonds II” is the update/replacement for the “Queen of Diamonds” jet dragster, arguably the most successful jet dragster over the past 2 decades.  Driver Jill Canuso is honored to be driving the new 6000 HP General Electric J-85-5 powered machine, saying “The handling is extraordinary.
