2018 Summit Motorsports Park Schedule Spotlights Adventure
While there were plenty of powerful performances, pyrotechnics and packed stands during the 2017 race season at 
Summit Motorsports Park, there’s even more in store for 2018.
It begins with the 37th Annual Spring Warm-Up, which is now two days rather than one day, April 28-29, followed by the 12th Annual Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, which is billed as the largest NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in the country, May 18-20.
Super Summit, featuring cars shined up to show and souped up to go, is June 8-9, and the 12th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, with everything from Top Fuel dragsters and Funny Cars to fireworks, is June 21-24.
Street rods will roll in for the 17th Annual Lingenfelter Performance Blue Suede Cruise, July 13-15, and Chryslers will convene for the 6th Annual Monster Mopar Weekend, July 27-29. Trans Ams, Tempests and other Pontiacs will take over the track for the 27th Annual Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals, Aug. 3-5.
The 41st Annual Kelly Services Night Under Fire is poised to be another capacity-crowd spectacle with more than fifty performers, fireworks and special effects, Aug. 11-12, and cars cruising with power-adder and naturally aspirated combinations will capture attention at the 17th Annual NMCA All-American Muscle Nationals, Aug. 24-26.
The Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels will see some of the quickest and fastest door cars in the country, Sept. 13-16, and hundreds of sportsman racers will get together for racing, costume contests and more at the Cometic Gasket Halloween Classic XLV presented by Harland Sharp, Oct. 13-21.
“I’m very bullish about the future of the sport, so much so that we’ve slated nearly $6 million dollars in improvements over the course of the next three years,” said Bill Bader, Jr., president of Summit Motorsports Park. “We usher in 2018 with the first of the three projects, a $1.6 million all-concrete track rebuild. Everything will be new, from the staging lanes to the sand trap.”
