BAMBERG, ON – After a couple of years away from the track, making a family, Jeff Moser is ready to return to the action.

“I’m looking forward to coming back to drag racing,” said Moser, who will compete in his first season of the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts with his Top Dragster.

The driver of the Blue Thunder Racing team started his career drag racing snowmobiles about 15 years ago, then moved into cars, and started racing a dragster in 2003.

The team, headed up by Jeff’s father Wayne Moser, has been successful in the past, winning the 2007 Top Dragster championship at the Grand Bend Motorplex, and the Box ET title at the 2005 IHRA Nationals, also at Grand Bend.

“We’ve got a great team, an amazing car and the experience of past successes,” Moser noted. “We look forward to a good season!”

Moser and his team will enter the 2011 Quick 32 Sportsman Series arena with a new 2011 Phantom Race Cars dragster, powered by a 632-cubic inch Scott Shafiroff Racing Engines power plant. A Speedtech Fogger nitrous system is employed which feeds the dual Holley carburetors, and an FTI Powerglide transmission sits behind the engine.

Wayne “Jake” Moore is crew chief on the team. Melanie Moser, Amy Moore, Dianne Moser, Jackson Moser and Hunter Moser are also part of the effort. Sponsorship is provided by Bast Auto and Tire Center’s and Stemmler Meats & Cheese.  The team continues to welcome sponsors.

Moser added he and the team is working hard to get the car ready for opening day, the Victoria Day Challenge May 20-22 at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.

“We’re thrashing real quick,” he said. “We’re hoping to get out and test next week.”

Moser also said he is enthusiastic about his first season in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series.

“I think it’s a great series. I’m really excited. This series has been a long time coming. We needed a series like this for Canadians.”
