13th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing

The 13th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing has become a destination event for both racers and fans for more than a decade. Billed as the largest gathering of heads-up doorslamers in the nation, it’s no wonder.

With both the racers of the NMRA Keystone Automotive Series and NMCA Muscle Car Nationals presented by E3 Spark Plugs racing together there will be 25 racing classes plus the always exciting True Street class highlighting the four-day event which gets rolling with a test session on Thursday July 26th.

The event concludes with the presentation of Nitto Tires Diamond Tree Champions Ring © to the winning team on Sunday evening. Last year it was the drivers of the NMRA who took the rings. Can the NMCA strike back this year?

Regardless of where your brand-loyalty is, the non-stop racing from early in the day until late in the evening serves as an adrenaline injection for any drag racing enthusiast. With record-setting car counts expected in many of the heads-up classes, plus the addition of the Chevrolet Performance Challenge Series, this year’s race will likely be the largest race in the past 13 years.

This event isn’t all about drag racing though. Sure, it’s the centerpiece of the weekend, but there are tons of other activities going on as well. From a huge late-model and early-model muscle car and hot rod car show featuring some of the nicest cars in the Midwest, to the largest Manufacturers Midway of its kind, to a swap meet filled with hard to find parts for your hot rod, drag or muscle car.

This event will also be hosting the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow, which features the next generation of car enthusiasts showcasing their engine-building skills on the midway.

The 13th Annual Nitto Tire NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag racing is THE racing destination for the entire family where kids under 12 are always admitted FREE.

It all goes down July 26-29 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. If by chance you can’t make it to the race in person, check it out live on speedvideo.com which will be streaming the entire event.

Adults pay only $25 for a 1-day spectator ticket for all-day pit access and any seat in the grandstands. Kids 12 and under are FREE.
