Left Lane: Todd Moyer Runs 3.968/196.50, Now #2; Best prior run: 4.499/175.55, Was #12
Right Lane: Billy Glidden Runs 4.056/177.35, Now #3; Best prior run: 4.106/177.18, Was #2
And now there are two...open spots in the Mickey Thompson Three-Second club, that is, long-time racer Moyer becoming the third member on this run. Everyone was looking for Billy Glidden to take that third spot and Glidden ran better early numbers, but left the door open on the top end and Moyer's turbocharged Cavalier slipped through first. Both made nice runs, but Moyer got there first.
Todd Moyer's incremental times: 60ft-1.027 sec., 330ft-2.696.
Billy Glidden's incremental times: 60ft-0.960 sec., 330ft-2.663.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right Lane: Michelle Wilson Runs 8.004/54.60, Now #6; Best prior run: 4.271/173.09, Was #6
Wilson's car shook almost immediately.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right Lane: Jeff Naiser No Time, Now #7; Best prior run: 4.275/147.96, Was #7
Naiser's throttle apparently hung open and the engine RPMs went way up, the car popping and banging, sending the starting line crowd running to get away. He managed to get it shut down with the engine still in one piece.
